TMG Closing Hyves Social Network

The Telegraaf Media Group (TMG) said it will shut down the Dutch social network Hyves, Telecom Paper reports. The company said that users will have until mid-November to apply to download personal photos and videos from the site. Hyves expects to process the requests by the end of the year, the paper said. Hyves, launched in 2004, was acquired by TMG for €43.7 million in 2010.
