Attack on officer unexpected

The man who assaulted an officer in Amsterdam-Oost, did so completely unexpectedly. The attack had nothing to do with the work the officer was doing at that time, according to the police.The suspect is a 38 year old Amsterdam resident. The undercover officer was on the job on the IJburglaan Thursday morning around 7:30 am , when he was stabbed in his neck by a man. Ambulance

Wikimedia commons Based on a description and with the help of a sniffer dog the suspect was apprehended a short time later at a homeless shelter. The suspect and one officer were slightly injured in the process. The suspect appeared before the magistrate Friday. The officer who was stabbed was taken to the hospital seriously injured, but is out of danger.
