Tax on fuel and drinks increase

Tax on diesel, LPG, alcohol, and soft drinks will go up next year. Diesel will be three cents per liter more expensive, LPG seven cents. The Macro Economic Outlook (MEV) from Central Planning reveals this on Sunday. It is still unclear how much the tax increase on alcohol and soda will be, only that this measure should yield a quarter billion euros. The exemption for old-timers expires next year, which should yield the state another quarter billion euros, just as discontinuing the reduced VAT rate for renovations, starting March 1st, 2014.
