This Weekend No Trains To Schiphol
Schiphol will be difficult to reach this weekend by train because work done by ProRail and the Department of Public Works (Rijkswaterstaat), will limit the traffic to and from the airport.
The works will begin Saturday at 1:00 am and last until Monday 5:00 am, announced Schiphol on Wednesday. The Dutch Railways will make use of busses to transport the travelers, but additional travel time, which can take up to an hour, should be taken into account.
The work also has implications for the A4 which is parallel to the track. The A4 towards Schiphol will be closed during the night and the traffic will be diverted.
There are no trains riding between Schiphol and the stations Bijlmer ArenA, Diemen-Zuid and Sloterdijk. The night trains will also not stop the whole weekend at Schiphol.
ProRail improves the rail connection between Schiphol and Lelystad. In the first weekend of July travelers also experienced inconvenience by the work on the track. In the weekend of 7 and 8 December there will be again work taking place on the track around the airport.
