Education Agreement Signed

In the coming years there is more room for young teachers, the workload for all teachers will be lower and there is an end to the baseline. It's all in the National Education Agreement which was signed Monday . The agreement was signed by Minister Jet Bussemaker and State Secretary Sander Dekker (Education) and employers and workers , united in the Education Foundation. In 2015, teachers in primary and secondary education will have a raise after years of standstill. Most probably they will have already some compensation in 2014, reported various well established sources to news agency ANP. The union CNV states that agreements are made about substantial salary developments. The full Education Agreement and the additional 689 million to be invested in education, will only be made public after Budget Day. This is because parts of the agreement are related to the budget of next year. The baseline was this summer one of the reasons that some of the unions, AOb and CNV Education, stepped away from the negotiations. CNV Education, however, came back last month to the negotiating table. The AOb did not, because they can not accept the proposed plans on the seniority scheme. Followers “The agreement is a prerequisite for the release of additional funds for education, rising to 689 million euro,” the parties write in an explanation about the agreement. Because these components are associated with the next year's budget, which is announced on Budget Day, the entire text of the agreement can only be made public after the third Tuesday in September. After Budget Day, the parties of the Education Foundation will submit the full text of the agreement to their followers. What is already known now, is that there is a boost for employment in primary and secondary education. That means that next year, 3000 young teachers can get an extra job or maintain their job. Another part of the agreement is that all teachers must register: from 2017 it must be known whether a teacher is qualified and authorized to do the job. The Education Agreement at a glance • a boost for employment in primary and secondary education, which in 2014 guarantees 3000 young teachers to get a job or keep their job; • time and resources for training for teachers ; • statutory basis for the teachers register, in 2017 it must be ensured that every teacher is qualified and competent; • strengthening the position of teachers, including a professional status in primary and secondary education which confers control of education teams, regulated by law; • reduce workload and administrative obligations for the teacher, there will a study on administrative burden in education; • the commitment of additional funds for education from the coalition, rising to 689 million euro;
