President Koroma to be Awarded in Amsterdam

The 5th Achievers Awards ceremony in Amsterdam will give recognition to Sierra Leone President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma, Akwa Ibom State Governor Godswill Akpabio, Plateau State Governor Jonah Jang, and the late elder statesman Chief Anthony Enahoro. Photo by Travis Lupick/flickr The event, which is organized by The Voice (pioneer African magazine in the Netherlands), will be held on October 12-13 in Amsterdam. The Voice Editor-in-Chief Pastor Elvis Iruh made the announcement during THISDAY. He said the purpose of the event, which began five years ago, is to distinguish and acknowledge those with exceptional qualities in the African community. Iruh added that they are expecting Governors Akpabio and Jonah Jang this year. President of Sierra Leone, Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma will be in attendance and will be accepting the major award. An award in honor of late Anthony Enahoro will be given and he will be presented with an African Leadership Award for his contribution. Iruh said The Voice, launched more than a decade ago, is motivated for the progress of Africans, to put in more importance to what they do.
