Rise in Older Short-Term Employees
A research by the Dutch Federation of Private Employment Agencies (ABU) shows that there has been an increase in the number of temporary workers aged 65 years old and above.

Temporary recruitment agencies intended at older temporary workers are trending. The Dutch Association of Mediation and Employment Agencies (NBBU) estimate that in the country, there are 90 temporary recruitment agencies for that target group at present. Some older workers persist on looking for employment to meet their financial needs while most would like to find motivation to wake up in the morning.
The temporary staffing agencies are very important for workers whose earlier companies implemented compulsory retirement at 65. Early this year, there were 182,000 employees over the age of 65, a noticeable rise compared to the 129,000 in 2011 and the 76,000 in 2009.
