Queen Elizabeth II Welcomes Royal Couple
On July 10, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima met Queen Elizabeth II in her private residences at Windsor Castle on their first official visit to Great Britain since his appointment as King.

This was the first time The Queen met the newly inaugurated couple since they were sworn in as the King and Queen. Willem-Alexander is the country's first king in over a century, following his mother Queen Beatrix’s abdication. The royal couple’s daughter Catharina-Amalia is now the Princess of Orange and is first in line for the Dutch throne.
