Terrorists Lose Citizenship

A majority in the House thinks that people who participate in terrorist organizations must lose their Dutch citizenship. They want the government to arrange this asap. The proposal comes from the VVD, the 'peoples party for freedom and democracy'. The coalition partner wants to have this arranged because some Dutch citizens, mostly with a double nationality, join jihadist fights and violence against freedom and democracy. There is an outdated law about losing Dutch citizenship when taking the arms of a foreign power but that doesn’t cover the current situations. The VVD urges the government to come up with a plan before this summer.
