Coldest May 23 Ever
A big part of the Netherlands has experienced the coldest May 23, since the weather measurements started in 1901. In de Bilt it was the whole day colder than 10.4 degrees Celsius. Of all 34 measurement locations, only five of them didn’t reach a cold record.
The temperature ranged from 8 degrees in Brabant and Limburg to 11 degrees in Noord Holland and Friesland. The maximum temperature on May 23 was 11.7 degrees in the Noordoostpolder.
Normally the temperature is about 18 degrees at this time of the year. Only after the weekend the Netherlands will have higher temperatures again. But with 14 to 17 degrees Celsius one can unfortunately not speak of nice Spring weather.
In the coming night it might be slightly freezing in the east of the country.
