On their first working day the new king and queen of the Netherlands said goodbye to their guests after breakfast in the Palace on Dam Square in Amsterdam. RTL.nl reported that there is no time for a holiday in the schedule of the new monarchs. Their first public appearance will be on Saturday night, the 4^th of May, at the National Memorial in Amsterdam where the Netherlands holds its biggest ceremony in Remembrance of the Dead. The ceremony is traditionally broadcast nationally on NOS. On the 5^th of May the couple will attend the closing of the National Celebration of the Liberation, also in Amsterdam.
