Police investigating bodies found separately in canal, river

The police are investigating two bodies found separately from each other in the Waal river in Beuningen and in the Twentekanaal in Hengelo on Monday.

The body in the Twentekanaal was found near Betoncentrale Twenthe early on Monday afternoon. Firefighters removed the body from the water. The police are investigating. So far nothing is known about the victim's identity or cause of death.

Shortly before 9:00 p.m. a body was found in the Waal river in Beuningen. The cause of death and identity of this victim is also not yet known. The police are investigating.

As far as is known, the two bodies are not connected to each other.
