Third arrest made in Hellevoetsluis fatal shootings
A 23-year-old man turned himself in at a police station on Tuesday in connection with a fatal shooting in Hellevoetsuis on Boxing Day. This is the third suspect to be arrested in this case. One more suspect is being sought, the police said on Opsporing Verzocht on Tuesday.
The shooting happened shortly before 6:00 p.m. on December 26th on Branding. Two people were shot. A 29-year-old victim died that same night. The second victim, a 22-year-old, died a few hours later in hospital.
The police investigation quickly revealed four people suspected of involvement and officers called on these men to turn themselves in. A 29-year-old man from Hellevoetsluis did so on December 30th at a police station in Dordrecht. He will be arraigned on Thursday. On Monday, January 2nd, a 50-year-old man, also from Hellevoetsluis, was arrested. And on Tuesday a third suspect turned himself in.
The police are still looking for one more man.
