On Friday and Saturday the Koninklijke Marechaussee arrested seven suspects in connection with a diamond heist at Schiphol airport in 2005. The seven are suspected of involvement in the hijacking of an armored car carrying 67 million euros worth of diamonds, NOS reports.

The arrests were made in Amsterdam and Valencia, Spain. The suspects are five men and two women. All of them are Dutch.

A 25-year-old man from Tilburg who was on a bus, is astounded by the commotion that arose around him and his sandwich, he said on RTL Late Night. 

Thirteen police officers responded to a bus driver reporting that he felt unsafe after the young Tilburg man refused to discard his sandwich. A bystander filmed the man's arrest and posted it online.

An incident caused by two men eating a sandwich on a Tilburg bus on Wednesday ended in a 25-year-old man being detained in an arrest involving 13 police officers. Several videos of the arrest on Conservatoriumlaan were shared on social media.

According to Yoni Klarenbeek, a fellow passenger on the bus who posted a video of the arrest on Facebook, the trouble revolved around a sandwich. "The guy did not want to discard the sandwich when the bus driver asked him to, except for eating on the bus he was doing nothing wrong. No swearing, no threats."

Last year a total amount of 13,312 kilograms of cocaine was intercepted at the port of Rotterdam, breaking the 2013 record of 9,800 kilograms, the Public Prosecutor announced on Wednesday. According to the prosecutor, the number of cocaine seizures did not increase, but the size of them did.

On Saturday the police arrested two men in Huizen after a long car chase. The suspects had two automatic firearms in the car with them. Sources of newspaper AD claim that they were on their way to assassinate a man, after they shot and killed the wrong man last week.

The suspects were spotted on Faustdreef on Saturday night. The police found them suspicious and decided to pull their car over. Instead of pulling over, the men sped off and the police gave chase. They were eventually arrested in Huizen.

The man arrested for in Amsterdam this weekend, is a 23-year-old Russian man without fixed address. The police identified him based on fingerprints, Het Parool reports.

The man is well known to the German authorities due to theft and violent crimes, a spokesperson for the police said to the newspaper.

Dutch lawyer and business executive Peter Wakkie, who was , was released from custody. Wakkie was arrested on Monday morning and released at 00:30 a.m. on Tuesday, after the Spanish authorities were through with questioning him, a spokesperson for the businessman in the Netherlands said to ANP after making contact with the man.

A patrolling police officer was stabbed in the neck on Amsterdam's Rembrandtplein around 00:25 a.m. on Sunday, the police said in a statement. The motive for the stabbing is still very unclear, according to the police. the first witness statements indicate that there was no contact between the officer and his attacker before the stabbing.

The officer was rushed to the hospital after the stabbing. The wound in his neck was stitched up and he has since been sent home to recover.

The police wiretapped the Emmen clubhouse of motorcycle gang No Surrender. Overheard conversations revealed that crimes were structurally committed in the building, including drug trafficking and assaults, Prosecutor Pieter van Rest revealed in a press conference about a raid on the clubhouse on Friday morning, AD reports.

Suspected jihadist Lieke S. from Eindhoven was extradited from Bulgaria to the Netherlands. The Koninklijke Marechaussee took her into custody at Schiphol airport on Friday morning, AD reports.

The 33-year-old woman was arrested in Bulgaria on December 23rd, at the request of the Dutch Public Prosecutor. The prosecutor in Den Bosch suspects her of trying to join terrorist organization ISIS in order to take part in the violent struggle in Syria.

Three suspects were arrested on Tuesday in connection with the death of an 80-year-old woman on Kastanjeplein in June last year. One of the suspects is the victim's son, 54-year-old Hans W., according to the Telegraaf.

On Tuesday the police in Zuid-Limburg arrested 14 people on suspicion of involvement in dozens of crimes including car thefts, burglaries, ram raids, handling stolen goods and money laundering. According to the police, all 14 suspects no each other and the crimes were committed by varying smaller groups made up of the various suspects. Most of the crimes were committed in Limburg and across the border in Germany and Belgium in 2016.

On Tuesday the police arrested two brothers in Eindhoven on suspicion of involvement in a brutal robbery and rape in a chalet in Schaijk in 2009. New information led investigators to the suspects, the police said in a statement on Wednesday. The suspects, age 26 and 28 years, are in custody for further investigation.

The police arrested seven men in December for extorting people with sex ads on WhatsApp, the police announced on Tuesday. THe suspects posted sex ads, to which their victims responded on the messaging app. But instead of making an appointment with a sex worker, the victims were informed that their families will be told about their activities if they did not pay an amount of money.

The police arrested two men on Monday on suspicion of sexually exploiting a 16-year-old girl over a period of several weeks, the police announced in a statement.

The police launched an investigation after reports of a underage girl working as a prostitute. The investigation led to the suspects - a 41-year-old man from Utrecht and a 25-year-old man with no fixed address. The arrests were made by the Migration Crime and Human Trafficking team in Utrecht and Bilthoven respectively.

The investigation is still ongoing and the police believe that more arrests may follow.

A 12-year-old boy's day of mischief with his brother ended with him in the hospital with a broken leg. The boys were ringing doorbells and running away in Purmerend, when one angry resident hit the boy with his car, the boy Ivano told broadcaster WNL. 

On Saturday night the two boys rang the man's doorbell on Nijlstraat as a prank, sprang on their bikes and cycled away. "The man did not come out. And then he came out of nowhere driving at quite a speed. Then he hit my brother", Ivano's brother Miguel told the broadcaster.

A 16-year-old boy and a 19-year-old woman were arrested on Saturday for breaking into a building on Elzenstraat in Nijmegen and stealing biscuits, tea and detergent, the police said in a statement. 

The police responded to the building around 10:40 p.m. on Saturday after reports of a break in. At the scene they found the two teenagers sitting in a car.

Also in the car were biscuits, tea and detergent, among other things. After checking the building, the police concluded that the items in the car were taken from the building.

A 24-year-old man from Hellevoetsluis turned himself in at a police station in Dordrecht on Thursday. He was internationally wanted for a fatal shooting in his home-town on Boxing Day. This means that all four suspects in the case is now in custody, the police said in a statement.

A mentally disturbed man caused havoc on the Dutch government complex the Binnenhof in The Hague on Thursday afternoon. He threw a bag at the Tweede Kamer, the lower house of Dutch parliament, from the square in front of it. The square was evacuated, surrounding streets were closed down for several hours and warning shots were fired before the man was finally arrested, the Telegraaf reports.

A 14-year-old boy was arrested at Schiphol airport on Wednesday night for having a taser and a bag of fake money on his person, the Koninklijke Marechaussee announced on their Facebook page. 

The Koninklijke Marechaussee is a policing force that works as a part of the Dutch army. It is responsible for border security, including security at airports.

According to the Marechaussee, customs officers found a flashlight on the boy which turned out to be a taser. They called in the Marechaussee, who arrested the boy and found 51 fake 50 euro notes on him.

A bunch of explosives found in Tilburg over New Year's was not intended as fireworks, but as some kind of crime. The 25-year-old man who was arrested at the discovery of the explosives is officially suspected of "preparing for a crime", a spokesperson for the Public Prosecutor said on Tuesday, AD reports.

Police officers decked out in bulletproof vests responded to the Corridor shopping center in Veenendaal due to a "suspicious situation" on Wednesday morning. At least one person was arrested.

A spokesperson for the police would not tell the Gelderlander who was arrested, but did say that the person was "firearm dangerous". According to the newspaper, the arrest was made at the request of the National Office of the Public Prosecutor. The police's Special Intervention Team responded.
