Camper catches fire in Zwolle, owner seriously injured

A camper erupted in flames Saturday night at a carpool area near the Zwolle-Zuid interchange on the A28, leaving its owner with severe burns and causing extensive property damage.

According to RTV Oost, the fire broke out around 10:30 p.m. on the Beukenallee carpool area. The camper, reportedly used as a permanent residence, was quickly engulfed in flames.

Emergency responders rushed the owner to a hospital with serious burn injuries.

Firefighters brought the blaze under control, but the camper was heavily damaged. Many of the owner’s belongings were destroyed in the fire. Police have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
