Elderly man found dead in Goes pond

The body of an 83-year-old man was found in a pond near Westwal in Goes on Wednesday morning. The police believe the man, a resident of Goes, became unwell and fell into the water, BN De Stem reports.

A passerby spotted the body around 6:30 a.m. and called the police. Several police officers and forensic investigators responded to the scene.

"He died a natural death", the police said, according to the newspaper. "A bicycle was found, but it is not known if it belonged to the man."

The man's family was notified.
