Body found in Enschede home; crime suspected

The police are investigating the death of a woman found in a home on Tubantiastraat in Enschede on Sunday afternoon. "The circumstances are such that we are seriously taking into account that this was a crime", the police said in a statement late on Sunday night.

Officers responded to the home around 3:00 p.m. after someone reported finding the woman unconscious in the home. First responders tried to resuscitate her, but it was to no avail. She died at the scene.

The police closed down the scene and a forensic team investigated in and around the home. A neighborhood investigation was also done.

The circumstances surrounding the woman's death are still unclear. In the interest of the investigation, the police would make no further comment.

Investigators call on witnesses to come forward.
