Exploding hand grenade wakes up Breda neighborhood

An explosion in front of a home on Elzenbroek in Breda woke up the entire street around 3:30 a.m. on Monday morning. The police believe a hand grenade was involved. The home and at least three cars were damaged, a police spokesperson told NOS.

The four residents of the home, including two children, were unharmed. The home's window was shattered.

The circumstances around the explosion, which happened in the neighborhood Haagse Beemden, is still unclear. The police are investigating and expect that the investigation will take some time.
