Fewer trains between Utrecht and The Hague due to damaged viaduct
Fewer trains are traveling between Utrecht Central and Den Haag Central on Tuesday morning due to a damaged railway viaduct, according to NS. People traveling from Utrecht to The Hague for Budget Day, should take extra travel time of between 30 minutes and an hour into account.
According to NS, it is unclear how long these delays will last. The damaged viaduct is located between Woerden and Gouda. NS deployed buses between those points.
Thousands of people are expected to travel through Den Haag Central Station today due to Budget Day in the city. The municipality of The Hague asked everyone to use public transit to get to the city, as a number of streets will be closed due to the festivities surrounding Budget Day, or Prinsjesdag in Dutch.
According to NU.nl, thousands of people bought tickets for the stands on Lange Voorhout to get a good look at the Glass Carriage taking the Royals from the Noordeinde Palace to the Binnenhof, where King Willem-Alexander will give his annual speech. After the speech, the Royal couple will waive at the public from the balcony at the Noordeinde Palace.
While Tuesday morning is starting out cloudy, the sun is expected to come out during the course of the day, according to meteorological institute KNMI. Afternoon temperatures will be around 19 degrees with a weak to moderate easterly wind.
