Man critically injured in Eindhoven shooting
A 34-year-old man was severely injured in a shooting in a shooting in Eindhoven on Tuesday night. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. The police are looking for witnesses.
According to the police, the first report of the shooting was received around 8:40 p.m. The victim was sitting in the passenger seat of car on St. Petrus Canisiuslaan when bullets started flying. He fled out of the car and collapsed some way up the road.
The police immediately launched an investigation. So far it revealed that the perpetrators fled in a dark colored BMW, which approached the scene from Tivolilaan and sped off in the direction of Geldropseweg.
A burnt out car was later found on Oude Doornakkersweg in Eindhoven. The police are investigating whether the car is connected tot he shooting.
According to Omroep Brabant, local residents heard between four and six shots fired and saw multiple perpetrators fled into a dark colored BMW. The broadcaster reports that the victim's family says he was the target of an assassination attempt last year.
The police are calling on witnesses to come forward. Investigators also want to talk to anyone who can give any information related to the shooting or getaway car.
