Thalys passengers face more security screening after terrorist attacks
Thalys passengers may soon be facing extra security screenings on the cross-border trains after the terrorist attacks in Paris.
The French authorities believe that the foiled attack on a Thalys train between Amsterdam and and Paris in August may be connected to the terrorists attacks in the French capital on November 13th, Reuters reports. They feel that extra security measures are necessary.
French Transport Minister Segolene Royal announced on Tuesday that extra security gates will be installed on stations in Paris and Lille before December 20th. Similar measures are also planned for Amsterdam and Brussels.
The high-speed Thalys trains connect Germany, France, the Netherlands and Belgium.
