A total of 76 people were arrested in Rotterdam after Feyenoord beat Heracles Almelo 3-1 on Sunday and thereby became the national champions for the first time in 18 years. According to the police, there were "no major incidents'' during the celebrations. Feyenoord will be officially congratulated and honored in a ceremony on Coolsingel around noon on Monday.
Early on Friday morning a large team of police officers raided the clubhouse of outlaw motorcycle gang No Surrender in Emmen. An emergency decree was issued and fences were placed around the complex. According to the municipality, one person was arrested, AD reports.
A British fugitive was arrested in Amsterdam on Tuesday and handed over to the Koninklijke Marechaussee at Eindhoven airport, who sees him as a suspect in an ongoing drug trafficking investigation. The 27-year-old Brit is wanted for violation of the Opium and Firearms Acts, the police said in a statement.
The police have arrested three more suspects in the 18 month long investigation surrounding a crime family in Roosendaal. This crime family is suspected of operating a drug line to France.
