About 20 billion euros is still outstanding from the Tax Authorities, according to data newspaper AD obtained by appealing to the Freedom of Information Act. Some 4.6 billion euros of that owed money dates from 2011 or earlier. The Tax Authorities is uncertain about whether they will ever be able to collect some 6 billion euros of that money, AD reports.

A proposal by VNL to scrap the ban on group defamation, hate speech and discrimination from the Penal Code was rejected by a majority in Dutch parliament on Thursday. A large majority of the Tweede Kamer, the lower house of Dutch parliament, found the proposal not well thought out as it opens the door to discrimination directed at vulnerable groups such as Jews, Muslims, women, LGBT and disabled people, NU.nl reports.

The Amsterdam VVD, D66 and SP are investing 3 million euros into a cleaner and safer Amsterdam. "Amsterdam is getting busier, which makes more mess and insecurity on the streets. We want extra money for a cleaner and safer city, on top of the money that is already there", Marja Ruigrok, leader of the Amsterdam faction of the VVD, said to AT5.

1.2 million euros will be used to keep the city cleaner, 1 million to address unsafe situation and another 1 million for extra enforcement capacity.

Despite criticism from parliament, Prime Minister Mark Rutte does not want to lower the income Princess Amalia will receive annually once she turns 18, RTL Nieuws reports.

Princess Amalia turns 18 in 2021. From then she will be groomed to take over from her father, King Willem-Alexander. When she goes to university, she will receive a car with a driver, a secretary and other support staff, according to RTL She will receive an annual allowance of 250 thousand euros, plus 1.2 million euros personnel and costs.

According to the parties, Rutte was not transparent in his information and a series of incidents invovling the royals is bad for support of the monarchy, NU.nl reports.
