PvdE city council member in The Hague Arnoud van Doorn is receiving extra security since the death of PVV city councilor Willie Dille early last month. According to Van Doorn, the extra security is the result of a threat analysis. "I was already being threatened, but the threats have increased", Van Doorn said, ANP reports.
A planned strike by security workers at Schiphol airport next week, has been canceled, trade union De Unie reports. Last night the unions and security companies reached a principle collective bargaining agreement for the 4 thousand security workers at the Amsterdam airport, the union said, AD reports.
Schiphol will try to stop a security guard strike at the airport next week Tuesday in court "We want to do everything possible to ensure that passengers do not suffer", a spokesperson for the airport said to RTL Nieuws.
Security guards plan to strike for 24 hours on Tuesday, September 4th. The strike would affect some 200 thousand travelers. "Everyone who flies has to go through the security check. If that is not possible, you can't fly", the Schiphol spokesperson said.

A 37-year-old man from Kudelstaart was arrested on suspicion of making and posting a threatening video online about politician Sylvana Simons. The man turned himself in at a police station on Tuesday and he is being questioned, the Amsterdam police announced.
In the video Simons, who is a candidate parliamentarian for new party DENK, is portrayed as the victim of a racist lynching. Her face was photoshopped onto the bodies of lynched black Americans.
Minister Stef Blok of Housing officially declared the renovations to the Binnenhof in The Hague confidential. The Binnenhof is where most of the political buildings in the Netherlands are located.
