Following an intense diplomatic battle between Russia and the Netherlands, the bodies of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 victims are finally on their way out of rebel stronghold Donetsk, Ukraine. The bodies were initially examined by Dutch forensic investigators on Monday, nearly four-and-a-half days after the plane was struck by a surface-to-air missile.

Dutch airline KLM has instructed pilots to avoid Eastern Ukrainian airspace following the crash of a plane believed to be Malaysia Airlines flight 17. The Boeing 777 was allegedly brought down by a missile strike in the Donetsk region of the Ukraine in an area controlled by pro-Russian separatists.

Ukranine President Petro Poroshenko said the Ukranian military did not attempt to shoot down any aircraft after reports surfaced that Malaysia Airlines flight 17 crashed there on Thursday en route to Kuala Lumpur. The flight originated in Amsterdam. All 295 people onboard are believed to have been killed, with a Ukrainian government advisor saying the flight was brought down with a missile.
