Ergun S., the man suspected of killing cleaners Gina and Marinus in the Pathe cinema in Groningen on Saturday, stalked his ex-girlfriend for years, she said to newspaper AD. She reported him to the police multiple times. "But the police always say that they are only texts, that they cannot prove that he is really after me", she said.

Feyenoord fans were not happy with the 4-0 loss the Rotterdam team suffered in an Eredivisie match against Ajax in Amsterdam on Sunday. Around 300 furious fans gathered at training complex 1908 and pelted the Feyenoord bus with fireworks and glasses as the players returned home, AD reports.

Even before the players arrived back in Rotterdam, there was a lot of angry yelling and shouting, according to the newspaper. Supporters jumped onto a police bus, which drove off with howling sirens, forcing the men to jump off.

Gina and Marinus were working for a cleaning company contracted for janitorial services at the movie theater and may have stumbled upon a burglary attempt, a relative of the victims told newspaper AD.

Authorities in the Netherlands arrested a Dutch man at Schiphol Airport after Swedish officials accused the man of producing terrorist propaganda, the Dutch prosecution service OM said on Friday. He was living in Sweden for the past three years and was deported on Wednesday as an undesirable alien, the OM stated.

The 28-year-old was “was arrested after arrival at Schiphol on suspicion of involvement in terrorism.”

He became the focus of an investigation because of his online behavior, which uncovered ties to ISIS, the OM said.

A police officer had to give up an on-foot pursuit of a suspected robber in Rotterdam-Hillegersberg on Thursday night when both he and his dog got stuck in quicksand. Emergency services responded en masse to free the two, RTL Nieuws reports. 

The police officer and police dog were responding to a report of a robbery on Straatweg when they came a cross a swamp in the garden of the house. They sank into the quicksand and became stuck.

A group of journalists will protest at the court in Rotterdam on Friday against NOS reporter Robert Bas being taken into custody for refusing to testify in an ongoing criminal case and give up his source. "It is very serious that at a time when whistleblowers are being eavesdropped on, journalists are being locked up", the initiators said to RTL Nieuws.

A 25-year-old man from Rotterdam suspected of knocking a police officer out during a wedding procession in the city, will remain in custody until his next hearing early in January, the Rotterdam court ruled on Thursday. The man is facing charges of aggravated assault, AD reports.

The man - the bride's brother - was arrested earlier this month in Lopik. Police officers found him hiding underneath a bed, according to the newspaper.

He will be held in custody until at least Monday, NOS reports. The court hopes that this "legal means of coercion" will make the reporter change his mind and give testimony, the broadcaster writes.

The police confiscated a massive 5,856 bottles of beer from an empty building in Rotterdam on Tuesday. Three police vans were needed to drive the 244 boxes full of - believed to be stolen - beer away from the building, the Charlois police said on Instagram.

Police officers saw men dragging the large amount of boxes into the empty building on Hilledijk during the early hours of Tuesday morning, according to AD. They spoke to the men and became suspicious that the very many bottles of Heineken had been stolen. One suspect was arrested.

Damaged overhead lines between Hoofddorp and Leiden left three trains stranded on Thursday, ProRail reported. Around 1,400 passengers were evacuated. The stranded trains are currently being towed away.

"The contractor is currently inspecting the damage", ProRail said. "How long the repairs will take is not yet known." No trains are currently running between Hoofddorp and Leiden. "ProRail regrets the inconvenience for all travelers on this route."

A demonstration against the Turkish offensive in northeastern Syria in Rotterdam on Wednesday evening got completely out of hand. Protesters and counter protesters clashed multiple times. Three police officers were injured. A total of 23 of protesters were arrested, the Rotterdam police said on Twitter.

Nationwide, the average rent per square meter increased by 3.6 percent in the third quarter, compared to the same quarter last year. Utrecht is the only of the four large cities where rents increased by more than 5 percent. In Rotterdam, rent prices even decreased.

Thanks to goals by substitute Luuk de Jong and Memphis Depay, Oranje won 3-1, putting the team in the lead of group C. The Dutch footballers and coach Ronald Koeman are relieved.

A Dutch woman decided to flee Turkey instead of awaiting her trial on a propaganda charge after she spent months in a Turkish cell with her baby. The police released video footage of two attempts to assassinate two people in a Range Rover in Rotterdam on September 10th. The perpetrators fired an automatic weapon, an AK47, at their targets first on Berlagestraat and then as their targets fled into the Alexandrium Shopping Center. As the streets and shopping center were pretty crowded when the shooting happened at 9:30 a.m. that morning, it is a miracle that no one got hurt, the police said on Opsporing Verzocht.

The police released new video footage of a police officer being assaulted by members of a wedding procession in Rotterdam at the end of August. The video, shown on Opsporing Verzocht on Tuesday, shows a man attacking the officer from behind, knocking him out. The perpetrator of the assault managed to get away and is still at large. 

Cash seized in a Colombian cocaine investigation

Amsterdam police investigating an international cocaine ring found 12.8 million euros in cash. Police said the wrapped bundles of paper money was a "record amount", seized over two weeks ago during a search of five homes on September 12.

Seven people were arrested at four of the homes, including two Colombian women and a Colombian man, two Albanian men, a man from Morocco, and another from New Zealand.
