Charles van der Voort, the Chief Public Prosecutor in Zeeland-West-Brabant, is resigning as of November 15th. At the Public Prosecutor's office there has long been complaints about a poor working atmosphere and a lack of transparency, NOS reports.

The national management of the Public Prosecution Service launched an investigation into the Zeeland-West-Brabant office last year. That investigation was recently completed and the results were discussed with the management at the regional office, but will not be made public for the time being.

Alexander Pechtold is resigning as leader of the parliamentary faction of the D66, he announced at the party congress in Den Bosch on Saturday. The party will choose a successor on Tuesday. It is "time for a new generation", Pechtold said n his farewell speech, NU.nl reports.

VVD parliamentarian Han ten Broeke resigned with immediate effect on Thursday. In a statement he said he had a brief sexual relationship with a young employee of the party in 2013, and that she later accused him of crossing a line. "If I look back on that now, I should never allowed myself that. It was not okay, should not have happened and will never happen again", Ten Broeke said, NOS reports.

Seven of the eight members of 50Plus' board of directors resigned on Monday night. Only secretary Hylke ten Cate is still in office. According to the party, a conflict arose about the management style and working methods of a number of board members, NOS reports.

The management crisis started when director Marianne Fennema said on Monday night that she did not agree with the board's working method under the leadership of chairman Jan Zoetelief. After her email, the other board members announced their resignation. Zoetelief was then forced to also resign.

PvdA alderman Jeroen Brandes of Amstelveen resigned on Friday after it was revealed that he sent sexual messages to a 16-year-old girl, Amstelveen mayor Bas Eenhoorn said in a letter sent to the town council on Tuesday, Het Parool reports.

Brandes, 48, resigned due to "compelling personal reasons" on Friday - just two days after being re-elected to the Amstelveen town council. Now the letter from mayor Eenhoorn reveals that it was because of messages Brandes sent to a now adult young woman who was 16 at the time.

A 29-year-old woman from Raalte received dozens of sexual messages and photos from a CDA city councilor in the Overijssel town. The councilor in question, Robert Vloedgraven, decided to withdraw as candidate councilor for the CDA in Raalte, he announced on Wednesday, De Stentor reports.

"Pictures of himself and also of his genitals, messages asking whether I'm shaved below and that I have big breasts. That kind of messages", the woman said to RTV Oost on Tuesday. She did not like the sexting, but found it hard to say no due to an anxiety disorder, she said.

Jan Hoekema, husband of recently resigned Senator Marleen Barth, also decided to hand in his resignation. He is stepping down as acting mayor of Langedijk in Noord-Holland, RTL Nieuws reports.

The reason for his resignation is the media commotion that arose around an agreement he made with the municipality of Wassenaar after he retired as mayor of the municipality. Hoekema and Barth arranged that they could stay on in the Wassenaar official mayoral residence at a reduced rent after Hoekema was no longer mayor there.

Around one in five aldermen were forced to step down during the past term. This often happened due to political reasons, but a considerable group had to leave due to some kind of scandal. Nearly 16 percent of the local politicians who stepped down this past term, did so due to misconduct and integrity problems, Trouw reports based on figures from the CollegeTafel.

In a short statement he gave two reasons for his resignation - he drank too much at the municipality's year-end function in December, and several statements were made in which he was accused of "boundary crossing behavior".

Emile Roemer is resigning as party chairman and leader of socialist party SP, he announced in a cafe in The Hague on Wednesday. He is also leaving the Tweede Kamer, the lower house of Dutch parliament, early in January, RTL Nieuws reports

"It's time someone else takes over the baton", Roemer said. "I do not want to be a politician who left too late. My part of the mission is over."

After hours of on Tuesday evening, she took the political responsibility for negligence in the Defense organization that resulted in the death of two soldiers in Mali last year. Commander of the Armed Forces Tom Middendorp also resigned.

Bram Verhappen resigned as chairman of Sylvana Simons' political party Artikel 1 last month, NOS discovered in a document from the Chamber of Commerce. 

Verhappen was chairman of the party, which promises equal rights to voters, for a matter of months. The party was launched in December last year. It is unclear why he resigned. Artikel 1 would not comment on the news, according to newspaper AD.

Secretary and treasurer Reguillo Wijngaarde took over Verhappen's duties, according to the document.
