A judge in Overijssel was reprimanded and had her Twitter account suspended after she responded to EenVandaag naming PVV leader Geert Wilders politician of the year with the word: "Knettergek", which loosely translates to "madness" in English.

While the Netherlands often goes farther than neighboring countries in the field of counterterrorism measures, many anti-terror laws are still waiting to be implemented, according to Dutch parliamentarians. This needs to change as soon as possible, was the sentiment in the Tweede Kamer during a debate on the attack in Berlin on Monday, the Telegraaf reports.

The Tweede Kamer is the lower house of Dutch parliament.

A proposal by VNL to scrap the ban on group defamation, hate speech and discrimination from the Penal Code was rejected by a majority in Dutch parliament on Thursday. A large majority of the Tweede Kamer, the lower house of Dutch parliament, found the proposal not well thought out as it opens the door to discrimination directed at vulnerable groups such as Jews, Muslims, women, LGBT and disabled people, NU.nl reports.

A majority in the Tweede Kamer, the lower house of Dutch parliament, voted against a proposal to ban foreign financing for Dutch political parties. The proposal was rejected by right-wing parties VVD, PVV and VNL and Christian parties CDA, ChristenUnie and SGP, NU.nl reports.

The PVV hopes to take many voters from local parties in the municipal elections in 2018, leader Geert Wilders said in a interview with AD over the weekend. Many local parties aren't too worried about this strategy, Trouw reports after speaking to them.'

The PVV shares views with many local parties, Wilders said in the interview. "We already hear of people who want to change", he said. So far the far-right party was only active in The Hague and Almere. "But people want more. I notice that there is a need."

PVV leader Geert Wilders issued another deportation call on Twitter, posting a video of a "recent" fight between asylum seekers in a shelter in Apeldoorn. But according to the police, the video is just over a year old and the asylum center in which it was shot is not even open any more.

Geert Wilders' anti-Islam party PVV is still gaining popularity in the polls. In Maurice de Hond's latest poll the PVV gained one seat over the past weeks, and 7 seats over the past four weeks. The anti-Islam party is now 10 seats ahead of ruling party VVD.

Over the past month the VVD, CDA, SP, D66, GroenLinks and PvdA all saw a decline in virtual seats, losing 9 all together. Together they now have just 87 seats. In 1998 the six parties scored more than 140 seats, according to De Hond.

The election for PvdA leadership between curent leader Diederik Samsom and current Deputy Prime Minister Lodewijk Asscher, is coming down to a neck-on-neck race. Samsom has the support of some 47 percent of PvdA members and 44 percent support Asscher, according to a survey by EenVandaag among 600 members.

The other 9 percent don't know who they'll vote for yet. PvdA members can vote for their new leader until December 8th.

In 2009 and 2010 intelligence service AIVD investigated PVV leader Geert Wilders' contacts in Israel, the Volkskrant reports based on its own research. The AIVD was concerned about Wilders' loyalty and that he was possibly being influenced by Israel, according to the newspaper.

Ban foreign funding for political parties in the Netherlands, DENK parliamentarian Selcuk Ozturk proposed on Wednesday. According to him, this is the most effective way to make sure Dutch politicians aren't influenced by foreign sources, Nederlands Dagblad reports

"Of the PVV is known that there are lines with financiers from the U.S." Ozturk said in a statement. "In that manner the PVV is possibly the long arm of foreign interest groups. Also with the Ukraine referendum there was possible foreign interference."

A controversial , veils, and other “face-covering clothing” from some Dutch public institutions was approved by a majority of parliament on Tuesday. The motion passed by a show of hands, the lower house of parliament confirmed, and will head to the senate for approval.

A majority in parliament thinks that parents have the right to know if their kids are attending daycare with children and babies that haven't been vaccinated. Then parens can decide whether they want to take the risk of infectious disease or move theri child elsewhere, AD reports.

The PvdA, CDA, D66, GroenLinks and PVV all voted in favor of this proposal. They are concerned because fewer people are vaccinating their children.

Geert Wilders can partly thank the current against him to a legislative proposal he himself supported in 2005, according to professor of sanction law Henny Sackers. In 2005 the Public Prosecutor filed a motion to increase prosecutioin and punishment for hate speech, racism and discrimination - and Wilders supported it, the Volkskrant reports.

A 37-year-old man from Kudelstaart was arrested on suspicion of making and posting a threatening video online about politician Sylvana Simons. The man turned himself in at a police station on Tuesday and he is being questioned, the Amsterdam police announced.

In the video Simons, who is a candidate parliamentarian for new party DENK, is portrayed as the victim of a racist lynching. Her face was photoshopped onto the bodies of lynched black Americans.

On Twitter he announced that he will make use of his right to have the final word in what he calls the "trial against freedom of expression". The PVV leader will have his chance to speak on Wednesday, NOS reports.

Both the PVV and 50Plus gained popularity this past week in Maurice de Hond's latest poll. The PVV now stands at 30 virtual seats, putting Geert Wilders' party 4 seats ahead of the VVD. 50Plus now stands at 11 seats, giving the party for the elderly more seats than the PvdA, wich stands at 10.

According to Het Parool, this is the first time since 2013 that 50Plus is doing so well on the polls.

The Public Prosecutor abused its power by charging Geert Wilders with hate speech, according to the PVV leader's lawyer Geert-Jan Knoops in court on Friday. According to the lawyer, the Prosecutor charged Wilders because he doesn't like Wilders' beliefs, not because theya re punishable, Telegraaf reporter Saskia Belleman tweets live from within the court room.
