The Dutch police seized a number of MH17 related items, including possible human remains, from freelance reporter Michel Spekkers at Schiphol airport on Saturday night. The reporter was returning from a trip to the Ukraine, where he visited the MH17 crash site, news wire AFP reports.

In a statement on Sunday, the Public Prosecutor said that "various bags with metal parts and an object which my be human remains" will be examined as soon as possible. The Prosecutor also said that Spekkers "refused to hand over photographic and film material from the crash site".

A police officer from Schinnen is being prosecuted for sexually abusing an underage girl, the Public Prosecutor confirmed to L1. The police officer was suspended by the police department in Heerlen early in November.

According to Limburg media, the police officer is suspected of sexually abusing a girl he met at a youth welfare club in Schinnen. Both the cop and the underage girl volunteered at youth club Jongeren Intiatief Schinnen.

A 14-year-old boy was arrested at Schiphol airport on Wednesday night for having a taser and a bag of fake money on his person, the Koninklijke Marechaussee announced on their Facebook page. 

The Koninklijke Marechaussee is a policing force that works as a part of the Dutch army. It is responsible for border security, including security at airports.

According to the Marechaussee, customs officers found a flashlight on the boy which turned out to be a taser. They called in the Marechaussee, who arrested the boy and found 51 fake 50 euro notes on him.

Anis Amri, the Tunisian man suspected of driving a truck into a Christmas market in Berlin on December 19th, spent several hours in Amsterdam two days later, Minister Ard van der Steur of Security and Justice confirmed in a letter to parliament on Wednesday. Amri was caught on surveillance cameras in the Dutch capital, the Dutch Public Prosecutor confirmed, the Telegraaf reports.

A bunch of explosives found in Tilburg over New Year's was not intended as fireworks, but as some kind of crime. The 25-year-old man who was arrested at the discovery of the explosives is officially suspected of "preparing for a crime", a spokesperson for the Public Prosecutor said on Tuesday, AD reports.

The Dutch prosecutor's office, OM, waited about four days to notify the cabinet that the man suspected of carrying out a terrorist attack in Berlin also spent time in the Netherlands after the incident. Dutch authorities ultimately notified Minister Ard van der Steur (Security and Justice) that the suspect, Anis Amri, traveled through the Netherlands, Van der Steur said in answer to parliamentary questions on Thursday.

Opposition parties were angered by the delay in notifying the cabinet minister, calling it an apparent lack of urgency among the Dutch authorities.

Four men were acquitted of having se with an underage prostitute in Valkenburg on appeal by the court in Den Bosch on Wednesday. Another 23 suspected were all sentenced to one day in prison and varying amounts of community service. The court thereby largely decided to keep previous rulings in tact, NU.nl reports.

The municipality of Amsterdam decided against placing concrete block traffic barriers to make access more difficult to the Christmas market on the Museumplein. There is currently no reason to do so, the municipality said on Tuesday evening, AT5 reports.

The proposed measure was in response to a truck driving into a Christmas market in Berlin on Monday night, killing 12 people and injuring 48 others according to the Guardian.

A 36-year-old man was found guilty of drugging then robbing five men while going out on dates with them in Amsterdam. Fanir M. was sentenced to 30 months in prison by the Amsterdam court, Het Parool reports.

According to the Public Prosecutor, M. made dates with men throughout Amsterdam using the gay chat app Bullchat - a service focused on sexual contact. This happened in October and November last year.

Police in the Netherlands arrested a 30-year-old Rotterdam resident suspected of planning a terrorist-related crime, the Dutch public prosecutor revealed on Friday. The suspect had a Kalashnikov AK-47 with two full magazines when authorities conducted the investigation.

A large painting in the suspect’s home depicting a flag used by ISIS was found, as well as four boxes of highly explosive illegal fireworks. Several mobile phones were also seized, along with 1,600 euros.

So far the Dutch police seized 14 thousand kilograms of illegal fireworks, according to the Public Prosecutor's weekly fireworks barometer which started up in the second week of October. By this time last year, the police already seized over 32 thousand kilograms of illegal fireworks, ANP reports.

The Public Prosecutor thinks the decrease can be explained by the trade in illegal fireworks starting up later this year than usual. A number of previously illegal fireworks were also classified legal this year.

D66 leader Alexander Pechtold is giving a statement in court today about a death threat made against him. This is the appeal in a case surrounding a death threat made in September 2015. Pechtold will tell the court how the threat affected him, NOS report.

The threat involved a a Facebook post showing the picture of a hand holding a gun and the text: "Pechtold, you should get a head shot." The D66 leader reported the threat in October last year.

The Public Prosecutor withheld information in the case around 300 kilos of cocaine smuggled from Costa Rica to Rotterdam in 2013, according to the lawyer of suspect Dennis van den B. Customs officer Gerrit G. is also a suspect in this case. If the Prosecutor shared this information, at least two assassinations could have been prevented, the lawyer said in court on Monday, NU.nl reports.

The Public Prosecutor filed an appeal in the case surrounding the rape and murder of Nicole van den Hurk in 1995. Earlier this month suspect Jos de G. was found guilty of raping the 15-year-old girl and sentenced to 5 years in prison. But the court acquitted him of killing the Eindoven teen.

The Public Prosecutor in Noord-Holland launched a criminal investigation into the CEO of KPMG Meijburg Wilbert Kannekens. He is a person of interest in a witness tampering case, a spokesperson for the Public Prosecutor confirmed to the Telegraaf.

According to the Telegraaf, Kannekens allegedly prevented a partner at the tax consultancy from making a statement about an incident involving a Moroccan employee, who was bullied to the extent that he left the firm. Influencing or intimidating a witness is considered a serious offense and can carry a prison sentence of up to four years.
