The Public Prosecutor issued an official and public summons to 10 Dutch men believed to be fighting for terrorist organization ISIS in Syria and Iraq. These men are summoned to attend a pretrial hearing in the court of Rotterdam on March 23rd, the Prosecutor said in a statement on the police website.
The police and Public Prosecutor now have access to the contents of 3.6 million messages sent through a network of specially customized BlackBerry smartphones. The authorities believe that these messages were sent by criminals, the Prosecutor announced on Thursday.

A 45-year-old mother and 36-year-old stepfather are accused of horribly abusing a then 3-year-old girl, Lisa. They left the girl outside, naked in the could, rubbed pepper in her eyes and gagged her if she screamed too much. The mother confessed to the abuse in the court of Arnhem on Wednesday, though maintains that it was the stepfather who tortured the now 5-year-old girl, not her, AD reports.
Two brothers from Amersfoort are suspected of trying to import half a kilogram of Semtex to use in making plastic explosives, according to the Public Prosecutor. 22-year-old Ali A. and 19-year-old brother Yusuf were caught after the FBI noticed them ordering Semtex and three detonators on the Dark Web and notified the Dutch authorities, AD reports.
The parents of a 23-year-old autistic and schizophrenic young man who was shot dead by the police in Amsterdam last year, want the Public Prosecutor to prosecute the police officers involved, ANP reports.

The police arrested a 68-year-old man in Noord-Brabant on suspicion of selling fake hospital bills in Thailand, the Dutch Public Prosecutor announced on Wednesday. The Prosecutor believes that the fraud committed with these fake invoices amounts to nearly 130 thousand euros, ANP reports.
The suspect sold fake hospital bills to Dutch tourists visiting Thailand. The bills shows charges for admittance to a hospital in Bangkok. When returning to the Netherlands, the Dutch tourists then submitted the bills to their health insurers for compensation.
Between 1996 and 2003 Dutch construction company Ballast Nedam paid bribes to the Saudi kings Fahd and Abdullah, broadcaster Human reported on Monday based on documents from the Tax Authorities' investigative department FIOD. All in all Ballast Nedam paid 500 million dollars to members of the Saudi royal family, according to the broadcaster.
The company and the Public Prosecutor reached a 17.5 million euros settlement on this bribery case in 2012.
The driver of a crane that collapsed at a vintage car festival in Oosterwolde, Gelderland almost two years ago, was sentenced to 240 hours of community service by the court in Zutphen on Thursday. One man was killed in the accident and 11 others were injured, many of them children.
The court in Zutphen ruled that the crane driver was careless and inattentive. The 48-year-old man was licensed to drive the crane, but not to poperate it.

The partner of murdered Amsterdam woman Susanna Boon is in custody again. A spokesperson for the Public Prosecutor would not say why he was arrested again, newspaper AD reports.
A hiker found Boon's body in a forest in Nunspeet Gelderland on March 29th. The woman had been missing since January 8th last year after a fight with her partner at her home on Jacob van Lennepstraat.
In court on Friday Willem Holleeder accused his sister Astrid of sabotaging the process of the criminal trial against him.
