The conductor checked the man's ticket on the international train from Brussels to Amsterdam on September 28th. She found that he did not have a valid ticket. She took his ticket and told him to buy a new one in Breda. The man behaved aggressively towards the conductor and she left the coupe.

A nurse was stabbed at a mental healthcare institution in Castricum on Tuesday evening. He was taken to hospital with unknown injuries, but in a stable condition, the police said in a statement. A 40-year-old man from Amsterdam was arrested as a suspect a short time after the stabbing.

A lawyer from Enschede was injured in a shooting in Gronau, just across the border in Germany near the Twente village of Glane, on Wednesday morning. He was walking in the street when he was shot at from a moving car. The lawyer was rushed to hospital with serious injuries, AD reports.
The police assume this was a targeted action against the lawyer. "There must be a relationship between perpetrator and victim", a police spokesperson said to AD. The man was conscious and able to communicate with first responders, the spokesperson said.
A 34-year-old man had hydrochloric acid poured over him on Johan M. Coenenstraat in Amsterdam on Monday. A 63-year-old man was arrested on aggravated assault. The victim was taken to hospital for treatment, the police said in a statement on Tuesday.
The police responded to the scene at around 1:40 p.m. on Monday, after receiving a report of someone being doused with hydrochloric acid. When the responding officers arrived, the 63-year-old man immediately came up to them and told them that he threw hydrochloric acid into the victim's face.
Jeweler Franc Cortenbach on Grotestraat in Waalwijk was robbed on Saturday night. Three perpetrators forced their way into the store and the above home and tied up and assaulted the two owners, according to the police, Brabants Dagblad reports.
The business was closed when the robbers broke in at around 10:00 p.m. But the two owners, who live above the store, were home at the time.

The driver of a car that crashed into a police officer Thursday night was taken into custody following the incident. The traffic cop was hospitalized with injuries sustained in the wreck.
Authorities had set up a checkpoint near the intersection of Sint Servatiusweg and D'n Herk in Venray. They ordered a driver to stop and pull over, police said, but instead the 20-year-old from Venray deliberately struck the police officer with his vehicle, authorities allege.
The police identified ash remains found with a 22-year-old Eindhoven man suspected of grave robbing. Four families will soon be reunited with the ashes of their loved ones. The urns were stolen from the Rijtackers crematorium in Eindhoven, Omroep Brabant reports.
"We have determined for four families that the ashes found are their loved ones and we are going to return these, in collaboration with the Rijtackers crematorium", a police spokesperson said to the broadcaster.
Two people from the Netherlands were killed in a robbery in Marloth Park, a holiday town situated in the South African Province of Mpumalanga, on Wednesday afternoon. Local media identify the victims as a 53-year-old man and a 75-year-old woman. They suffocated after being tied up and gagged by the robbers.

While he was on the phone with the police, the men on the scooter shot at the car. This happened on Houtmankade. The motorist was not hit.
The Dordrecht police arrested five men on the N3 highway early on Thursday morning. They are suspected of using explosives to break into an ATM on Van Eersterenplein in the city a short time before their arrest, AD reports.
The ATM at the Hema store in De Bieshof shopping center was blown open at around 3:15 a.m.. A witness saw five people flee the scene.
The police caught up to the suspects on Dortse Randweg. They were arrested.
