Police in Enkhuizen stopped a burglary suspect after he fell from a rooftop while trying to elude officers early Monday morning. The 33-year-old, also from the Noord-Holland town, was then apprehended on the ground, and taken under guard to an area hospital for treatment.

Authorities were alerted to a suspicious man lurking in the garden of a home on Nassaustraat at about 5 a.m. By the time police arrived the man had fled the scene.

After 17 years the convicted murderer of Dutch businessman Jules Odekerken was arrested in Thailand on Tuesday evening. Anuphong S. was arrested in a house in the northern province of Phrae, where he was in hiding, the Thai Crime Suppression Division announced in a press conference on Wednesday, the Telegraaf reports.

The police arrested a 45-year-old customs officer at home in Rotterdam early on Tuesday morning. She is suspected of corruption and money laundering, the Public Prosecution Service (OM) said in a statement.

The police previously searched the customs officer's home and seized administration, money, and data carriers. Whether information from these data carriers and administration led to her arrest, the OM did not say.

The woman was suspended by her employer a short time before her arrest, the OM said.

Explosives were used on an ATM inside an Albert Heijn grocery store on the Osdorpplein in Amsterdam as part of an attempted robbery early Tuesday morning. Shortly after, two teens were caught in Utrecht, suspected of trying to blast open a cash machine in a Plus supermarket.

Police said the suspects used a stolen Fiat Panda to smash into the Amsterdam West building at about 3 a.m. before attempting to blow the cash machine open. No money was taken, according to a statement from police.

The Tax Authority's investigative department FIOD arrested two men in separate investigations into money laundering using cryptocurrency. Roughly a half-million euros in cryptocurrency, fiat cash, and gold was seized in the two cases, the tax investigation agency FIOD said on Tuesday. 

The suspects, both arrested on Monday, mainly used bitcoin, but other digital currencies were also used, AD reports based on information from the Public Prosecution Service.

These rules are often not adhered to, resulting in victims' names and addresses ending up in files that can be seen by suspects. The largest drug bust in Costa Rica’s history involved over five thousand kilograms of cocaine destined for The Netherlands. The drugs were found on Saturday, hidden amongst a shipment of canopy plants being sent to Rotterdam, according to the country’s Ministry of Public Security.

The Spanish police arrested an alleged Dutch criminal organization for drug trafficking in Alicante. Four Dutch men between the ages of 44 and 56 were arrested for possessing more than 100 kilograms of cannabis, 550 cannabis plants, a firearm and large sums of money, RTL Nieuws reports based on reports in Spanish media.

Schools in Arnhem sounded the alarm about an increasing number of school children smoking cannabis during school time. "In some classes, 50 to 60 percent of the students [smoke joints]", Eelco van der Kruk of the Thomas  Kempis College in Arnhem said to the city council this week, speaking on behalf of multiple schools, Omroep Gelderland reports.

A 35-year-old woman was found dead in a home in Eerbeek, Gelderland early Friday night. The following morning officers arrested a 30-year-old man in connection with the case.

“The detectives are investigating his relationship with the deceased woman, and his possible role in her death,” police said.

Dispatchers sent a trauma team by helicopter to the neighborhood along with paramedics in an ambulance. The teams were sent to the scene after 2:10 a.m.

A criminal investigation was underway after the body of a dead woman was found in Rosmalen early Friday morning. Police did not reveal the identity of the woman, but said she likely resided at the home where she was found.

“A man who was in the home was apprehended,” police said. He was being held for further questioning. Local media reported that the woman was 83.

The body was discovered in a home on Burgemeester Mazairaclaan in the Noord-Brabant town. Several ambulances were dispatched to the scene just after 2:45 a.m.

Authorities arrested a driving instructor on Wednesday, accusing him of having sex with his 17-year-old student. Police said the 23-year-old gave the lessons in exchange for sexual acts with the girl.

He is suspected of placing advertisements on sexjobs.nl, a website claiming to be a “erotic marketplace.” Officers working with a specialized unit investigating the identities of undocumented migrants and human trafficking (AVIM) started researching the case after they saw the posting on the website.

A mail bomb exploded at an ING facility in Amsterdam on Thursday afternoon. On person was checked over for smoke inhalation by paramedics at the scene, the Amsterdam police said on Twitter.

The incident happened on Bijlmerdreef. Firefighters, paramedics and police were first dispatched to the scene just after 12:15 p.m.

A company in Leusden received a suspicious letter on Thursday morning. The police and the Ministry of Defense's explosive disposal department EOD are at the scene to investigate.

The letter was sent to financial services company Unisys on Storkstraat, according to NU.nl.

Two mail bombs which exploded in Amsterdam and Kerkrade earlier on Wednesday were part of an extortion plot where the sender demanded an undisclosed amount of bitcoin. The demand was made with the promise that, if paid, the sender would stop distributing the explosives, police said in a statement.

The amount involved was not revealed so the information could be used against any eventual suspect, police said.

A suspicious letter was found in Maastricht on Wednesday, after two mail bombs exploded in Amsterdam and Kerkrade earlier in the day. There was no explosion in Maastricht, the Limburg police said on Twitter. Minister Sander Dekker for Legal Protection called the blasts "worrying". "As far as we can see now, there are no victims, no injuries. So that's great," he said to De Limburger. "For the rest, the police must investigate."

There were explosions at companies in Amsterdam and Kerkrade on Wednesday morning. The Amsterdam explosion happened in the mail room of a company in the Sloterdijk area, the Kerkrade blast happened at a postal company. The police suspect mail bombs. No one was injured in either of the blasts, the Amsterdam and Limburg police said on Twitter.

An elderly man was found dead after a fire in his home in Voorschoten in Zuid-Holland during the early hours of Friday morning. Firefighters discovered the man's body when they managed to enter the burning home.

The victim was 96 or 97 years old, according to NOS. He lived alone, the police said. The man's house was considerably damaged in the blaze, but the houses around it were spared.

How the fire started is not yet clear. Firefighters quickly managed to get it under control. Surrounding residents did not need to be evacuated.

A walk-in center for male victims of sexual exploitation opened in Eindhoven. This is the first such location in the Netherlands that focuses specifically on men and boys. It opened in Eindhoven because a study in 2018 showed that around 70 men and boys worked in prostitution in the Eindhoven region. Almost 60 of them were minors and they often did not do the work voluntarily, NOS reports.
