Court reporter Chris Klomp was threatened on Thursday night. A brick was thrown through his kitchen window, and a threatening note was stuck to his door. The note instructed Klomp to delete his social media accounts, "or we'll be back", according to photos he posted on Twitter.

"We were just in bed, and then everything downstairs suddenly lies in ruins. That does scare you", the reporter, who writes for newspaper AD and others, said to NOS.

Two people were killed and three others were hurt Friday morning when a van collided with a signpost along the A73 highway. No other vehicles were involved in the rush hour crash which took place at 8:10 a.m., according to local media outlet 1Limburg.

Authorities are trying to figure out how the vehicle ended up on the outside of the guardrail that borders the highway’s shoulder. There, the vehicle collided with the structure announcing the approaching exit for Belfeld, Tegelen, Nettetal, and parts of Venlo.

Officials looking into the cause of a tragic carbon monoxide poisoning case in Doesburg say a charcoal barbecue grill is to blame. A 61-year-old father of 12 died in the incident, and his 45-year-old wife and 7-year-old son were hospitalized.

Their condition has improved since the Wednesday incident, and they are no longer in life-threatening danger.

Multiple shots were fired at nightclub Club Magnum on Van der Hagenstraat in Zoetermeer during the early hours of Friday morning. As far as is known, no one was hurt. The perpetrators are still at large, NU.nl reports.

The police are at the scene to investigate. So far nothing is known about the motive for the shooting.

Dutch YouTubers Ties Granzier and Govert Sweep were arrested at Area 51 in the American state of Nevada, the NYE County Sheriff's Office said on Facebook. They told the police that they saw and understood the no trespassing warnings, but wanted to look at the site. 

According to the local police, the duo had a drone, cameras and laptops on them. They recorded footage on the Area 51 site - a test location for the United States air force, where popular conspiracy theories say the American authorities experiment on aliens.

Multiple shots were fired on Kreefstraat in Rotterdam, near the Alexandrium shopping center, on Tuesday morning. As far as is known, no one was hurt, the police said on Twitter. Shortly after the shooting, a car was hijacked a short distance away. The police assume that the two incidents are related.

Witnesses told Rijnmond.nl that someone opened fire on a black Range Rover from another car. A man and a woman were sitting in the Range Rover. One of them got out and shot at the other car, which drove away with three people inside.

A 20-year-old man from Rotterdam was arrested in connection with a fatal stabbing at Capelsebrug subway station in Rotterdam on Monday morning. The victim was a 20-year-old man from Lekkerkerk, the police said in a statement.

The stabbing happened on the platform of Cepelsebrug subway station towards De Terp at around 10:00 a.m. on Monday. First responders tried to resuscitate the victim, but it was to no avail. He died at the scene.

Three people, including two children aged 8 and 12 years, were killed in an apparent murder-suicide in a home on Heimerstein in Dordrecht on Monday evening. The suspected gunman was their father, a 35-year-old police officer who worked at the Rotterdam unit. He also died. A 28-year-old woman was critically injured, the police said in a statement.

A 22-year-old man who was arrested in Leidschendam on Monday last week, died in hospital on Saturday, the Public Prosecution Service confirmed. The cause of his death is being investigated.

The man's family called the police on Monday because he was in "a disturbed state" in their home, the Prosecutor said. The man resisted arrest, according to the Prosecutor.

He was taken to a police station, where officers became concerned about his health and immediately called an ambulance. The man was admitted to hospital, where he passed away on Saturday.

A person was stabbed to death at the Capelsebrug subway station in Rotterdam on Monday morning following what witnesses described as a scuffle. The perpetrator is still at large, the Rotterdam police said on Twitter. 

Emergency services, including a trauma team by helicopter, responded to the subway station on Abraham van Rijckevorseplein just before 10:00 a.m. First responders tried to resuscitate the victim, but it was to no avail. They died at the scene. So far the police released no information regarding the victim's identity.

During surprise traffic checks on Tuesday, the police in Utrecht fined dozens of cyclists for holding their mobile phone while biking, despite the recent ban. Violators of this ban face a fine of 95 euros.

The surprise traffic checks were carried out by officers-in-training at the start of the new school year, AD reports. A total of 24 cyclists received the 95 euros fine for cycling with their phone in hand.

A joint investigation by Dutch, British and Belgian police forces resulted in the seizure of nearly 1.3 tons of heroin at the port of Felixstowe in Great Britain. The drugs had a street value of around 130 million euros. Four men were arrested in Rotterdam for involvement in trafficking the drugs to the Netherlands, the Dutch police and British National Crime Agency (NCA) announced on Wednesday.

Authorities investigating a report of a puppy being kicked to death for no apparent reason said the person who told the story made up the incident. The person walking the dog, a young boy with a developmental disability, pulled the leash too hard killing the animal, according to AD.

Someone had painted the Dutch slurs for sex workers and black people on the home's front door. The police are looking for a man who kicked a dog to death for no apparent reason in Tiel on Monday evening. The owner was walking the dog when they were approached by the man. He immediately started kicking and beating the dog, RTL Nieuws reports.

The attack happened in a parking lot in the Passewaaij district. According to Omroep Gelderland, the suspect is 1.95 meters tall and was wearing a balaclava with red holes.
