An 8-year-old boy who was kidnapped by his father in Eindhoven in June, was found in Barcelona. The child is currently in the care of the Spanish foster system while awaiting his return to the Netherlands. One suspect was arrested, NU.nl reports.

The boy's father is still nowhere to be found, the Spanish police and Dutch Public Prosecutor reported. The child was found in a home in Spain with someone else. This person was arrested.

The police are investigating footage made during a dog show in Eindhoven this weekend that shows men touching female dogs on their genitals. The footage was recorded by animal protectors from House of Animals, who went to the dog show undercover and gave the footage to the police and RTL Nieuws.

The video shows at least three men touching three different English bulldog bitches on their genitals. "These are sexual acts and it is bizarre that this is done to calm a dog for such a show", Karen Soeters of House of Animals said to the broadcaster.

Enforcement officers in Amsterdam will soon be equipped with bodycams, mayor Femke Halsema agreed with the unions. The enforcement officers working in the city center will also receive extra support from the police, effective immediately, the municipality announced in a press release.

A woman was stabbed to death in a home on Zonsraat in Nijmegen on Tuesday evening. A 50-year-old man was arrested as a suspect, the Nijmegen police said on Twitter.

The stabbing happened around 6:45 p.m. At this stage the police can not say anything about the victim's age or her relationship with the suspect, as her identity still has to be officially confirmed. The motive for the stabbing is still unclear.

The police are investigating.

Over the past two weeks 262 weapons, including 60 firearms and 650 kilos of ammunition, were handed in to the Rotterdam police. The no-questions-asked surrender action came from a Rotterdam citizens' initiative intended to reduce the number of firearms in Rotterdam and its surroundings, NOS reports

The Utrecht police arrested three teenagers on suspicion of mugging school children in Vleuten and Leidsche Rijn. Cycling pupils were mugged multiple times on their way home from school in January. The muggers stole money and belongings, the Telegraaf reports.

Investigation led the police to three boys aged 13, 14 and 16 from Utrecht. They are linked to one of four muggings. Their involvement in the other three crimes is still under investigation.

The Rotterdam region and the Flevopolder are true hotspots for speed traps, according to app Flitsmeister's top 10 list for the places in the Netherlands where mobile speed cameras were most often mounted in 2018, AD reports.

Flitsmeister is a smartphone app that warn users when they approach a mobile or permanent speed camera. The app does this based on information provided by the users themselves, among other things. Flitsmeister also provides information on traffic jams, accidents and stationary vehicles.

Mayor Annemiek Jetten of Vlaardingen received multiple threats, including death threats. The mayor filed six police reports at the end of last year - four times for insult, two times for threats, RTV Rijnmond reports.

Why the mayor was threatened, and by whom, is still under investigation. The threats may be connected to the decision to ban traditional New Year's fires in the municipality, according to the broadcaster. This decision resulted in a flood of criticism on the city government, and the mayor specifically.

The Zeeland police arrested a man in Oostburg, in the municipality of Sluis, during the early hours of Monday morning after catching him with 81 sea bass. He was carrying the fish in four large IKEA bags, RTL Nieuws reports.

The man, originally from Rotterdam but currently with no permanent place of residence, told the police that he had caught the fish in Belgium. Since October 2018, it is illegal to catch more than one sea bass for personal consumption. The law was adapted due to the sea bass population declining.

Two police officers were injured while arresting a man for violating a restraining order against him on Seringenstraat in Leiden during the early hours of Monday morning. The 29-year-old man from Harlingen resisted arrest so violently that the officers felt forced to use pepper spray on him and fire a warning shot, the police said in a statement.

Two people were found dead in a home on Max Havelaarlaan in Amstelveen on Sunday night. Emergency services responded to the home after reports of a strange smell, the Telegraaf reports.

A spokesperson for the police told the newspaper that the two victims seemed to have died of natural causes. It is not yet clear how long the bodies lay in the home.

According to regional media, the fire department responded to the scene on Sunday evening and took carbon monoxide measurements. A short time later, an ambulance arrived.

The police in The Hague sent two buses carrying ice hockey supporters back to Nijmegen on Sunday due to concerns for public order and safety. Two supporters were arrested, one for incitement and the other for assaulting a police officer, a police spokesperson said to NU.nl.

A shedding cat may have been the downfall of three men suspected of a burglary in Muiderberg. The three suspects deny having anything to do with the break-in, but their shoes were covered in cat hair. The house that was burgled is home to a cat that sheds a lot, NH Nieuws reports after a tweet from a community police officer.

The resident came home to find her home broken into and the suspects running away. The police gave chase, and finally caught and arrested the trio in Amersfoort.

The police found over 13 kilograms of crystal meth and 1.2 kilograms of cocaine in an apartment on Kees Pijlstraat in Rotterdam on Wednesday. A 35-year-old man was arrested.

Officially the apartment is registered as vacant, but patrolling police officers previously noticed signs of someone living there. At the time, no one was home. When the police returned on Wednesday, they found a 35-year-old man who claimed to live in the apartment.

A young woman who seemed to be abducted in Rotterdam on Wednesday evening, was found safe and sound, the police said on Twitter.

A witness called the police about a possible kidnapping on Paul Krugerstraat in Rotterdam on Wednesday evening. The police looked at surveillance camera footage and saw the woman being pushed into a car by two men. The police immediately launched an investigation.

Three men who were found dead in a drug lab in Eksel in Belgium on Tuesday are all from the Netherlands. Two came from Eindhoven, the third from Valkenswaard, the Belgian Public Prosecutor confirmed to Omroep Brabant.

Belgian newspaper Belang van Limburg reports that the three men were in their early 20's. The Belgian authorities believe they died in their sleep after breathing toxic fumes.

Two people were hospitalized after a massive pileup on the A12 off-ramp to Zoetermeer on Thursday. Between 25 and 30 cars collided with each other, a spokesperson for the police confirmed to NU.nl.

The Zoetermeer and The Hague region faced icy and slick roads on Thursday morning, which caused several minor accidents and traffic jams. The police can not yet say whether iciness on the road also caused this pileup.

The off-ramp was cordoned off and the police are investigating the cause of the accident.

Train traffic on the Arnhem-Utrecht route was disrupted on Wednesday afternoon due to a suspicious situation on a train. A man was arrested around 2:00 p.m. on a train at Veenendaal-De Klomp station. The man shouted that he had a bomb, witnesses said to Omroep Gelderland.

Exactly what happened is not clear. A police spokesperson told the Gelderlander that they received a report that the man wanted to hurt people.

The police responded to a home on Jan de Rooijstraat in Kaatsheuvel at around 4:00 a.m. on Wednesday after a report of a suspicious situation. Responding officers found an injured woman. She died at the scene, NU.nl reports.

The police believe the woman was killed in a crime. A suspect was arrested at around 4:40 a.m., some 2 kilometers away from where the woman was found.

An investigation was launched and the police cordoned off the crime scene. A trace evidence investigation is being done at the scene, and officers are talking to local residents.

Last year the Rijksrecherche launched investigations into 27 incidents in which police officers shot at a suspect during their work. In these incidents three people were killed and 26 were injured, according to figures the Public Prosecutor released.

The fatal shootings happened in Delft in October, in Schiedam in June, and in Amsterdam in January
