A man was found dead in his home on C.J.K van Aalstraat in Amsterdam's Oostelijk Havengebied on Saturday afternoon. The police believe he did not die a natural death. So far nothing is known about the cause of the man's death, though local residents speculate that he was murdered, Het Parool reports.

The man's family came home from vacation on Saturday and found him dead in their home. He did not go on holiday with his family because he wanted to renovate the house while they were away, according to the newspaper.

The Norwegian police launched an investigation into the disappearance 47-year-old Arjen Kamphuis. The Dutch man was on holiday in Norway and went missing on August 20th. He was last seen in the town of Bodø, RTL Nieuws reports.

Three teenage boys were killed when the car they were in hit a streetlight on Sportlaan in the Noord-Holland town of Anna Paulowna during the early hours of Saturday morning. The boys, two age 16 and one age 15, were all from the town. A 17-year-old girl from Anna Paulowna and a 20-year-old man from Oudesluis were injured. The man from Oudesluis was later arrested as a suspect, the police said.

A 2-year-old boy died after falling from the fourth floor of an apartment building on Gasperilaan in the Utrecht district of Kanaleneiland-Noord on Sunday afternoon. The police are investigating the incident, but believe it was an accident.

Emergency services, including a trauma helicopter, responded to the apartment building around 1:45 p.m. The toddler was rushed to hospital in critical condition, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Exactly how the boy came to fall is not yet clear.

People traveling through Utrecht Central Station on Monday morning should take delays into account due to police officers protesting for a better collective bargaining agreement, according to the police unions. Between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m., the police will construct cordons around the station in a labor action they call "danger zone", NU.nl reports.

Travelers will only be able to enter and leave the station through these cordons. This will cause delays, according to police unions ACP, NPB, ANPV an VMHP.

A man was scammed out of 26 bitcoins in an Amsterdam hotel on Thursday. He was approached online by someone who wanted to buy 26 bitcoins from him for 180 thousand euros in cash, around 24 thousand more than the bitcoins were worth at that time. But the money he was paid turned out to be fake, the police said on Facebook.

The man agreed to meet the bitcoin buyers in an Amsterdam hotel. They showed him the cash, and he transferred the bitcoins to them. Once the transaction was done, the scammers handed over the bag of cash and left.

A Dutch woman was found dead in a hotel room in the T Nagar area of Chennai, India on Thursday. The young woman, identified as 24-year-old Linda Irene Heijker based on passport records, was found under mysterious circumstances, India Today reports.

The Dutch woman checked in to the hotel on Monday, introducing herself as a journalist, and told hotel staff she would be checking out on Thursday morning, according to the newspaper. When she hadn't checked out of her room by 12:45 p.m. on Thursday, hotel workers opened her room with a duplicate key and found her dead.

The police fired shots at a stabbing incident at Amsterdam Central Station on Friday afternoon. A total of three people, two victims and the perpetrator, were taken to hospital with unknown injuries.

The incident happened in the west tunnel of the station. Witnesses told AT5 that two persons got into a fight on a platform in the station. The fight escalated and a knife was drawn. The police had to shoot to stop the suspect. The suspect was arrested and also taken to hospital.

Residents of apartment building Buekehnorst in Diemen were woken by an explosion in a first floor apartment around 3:30 a.m. on Friday. No one was injured. The explosive was a hand grenade, witnesses told AT5.

The explosion shattered the windows of the apartment in which the grenade exploded, as well as adjacent apartments. The police are investigating what happened.

Relatives of unsolved murders in the Netherlands started a petition calling on the government to hire more detectives so that the police can pay more attention to these cold cases. The petition asks the government for a "stronger and more convincing approach" to cold cases and "more well-equipped police teams", NOS reports.

The Netherlands counts around a thousand murder cases that haven't been solved. There are also around 800 other serious violent crimes in which no arrests were made.

The police found homemade explosives while searching a house on Söderblomplaats in Rotterdam on Thursday. The house was searched as part of an ongoing investigation, the police said on Twitter.

The explosives consisted of dangerous fireworks, bottles and rods of iron, according to NOS. A police spokesperson told NOS that there are currently no indications that the explosives are linked to terrorism.

The police did not say whether any arrests were made. Defense's explosive removal team removed the explosives and will detonate them elsewhere.

A 17-year-old boy was stabbed in the neck on 18 Septemberplein in the center of Eindhoven on Thursday afternoon. He was taken to hospital, seriously hurt. Part of the square was temporarily closed for police investigation, NU.nl reports.

The police are looking for the perpetrator. As the victim was not yet able to talk to the police, the circumstances that led up to the stabbing remain unclear.

The police again used batons to keep activists away from the NAM facility's fence, something the police later said they regretted. Former drug baron 73-year-old Kobus L. was arrested in a home in Roosendaal on Wednesday. The Rotterdam man was on the run after he was convicted of manslaughter in July for killing his son-in-law four years ago. L. is now in custody, the Public Prosecutor confirmed to NU.nl.

L. has to serve 12 years in prison for his son-in-law's death.

An 11-year-old boy was caught driving a sports car in Krimpen aan den IJssel during the early hours of Thursday morning. Two police officers noticed the car when they saw it driving over two crossings in "fits and starts", ANP reports.

When the driver noticed the police car behind it, he tried to switch seats with the passenger - while the car was still moving - but couldn't manage it. When the car came to a stop, the police found an 11-year-old behind the wheel.

A body was found in the water near Concertlaan at the edge of a residential neighborhood in Kampen on Thursday morning, the police said on Twitter. Attempts to resuscitate the victim were unsuccessful. 

The police received a report of a person in the water near Concertlaan in Kampen-Zuid at around 5:00 a.m., according to De Stentor. Officers and the fire department responded to the scene. The person was taken out of the water, and emergency services tried to resuscitate the victim. But it was to no avail.

The victim's identity and cause of death are being investigated.

The police will hinder train travelers at Utrecht Central Station during rush hour on Monday morning as part of their labor actions for a better collective bargaining agreement. Police officers will form a line at the station and passengers will only be able to enter through gaps in the line, ANP reports.

This action will happen between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Travelers should take delays into account, according to the police unions. According to the municipality of Utrecht, agreements were made with the police unions and the municipality expects no hindrance to the public.

A 43-year-old man from Lingewaard in Gelderland is in custody on suspicion of preparing for a violent crime "with terrorist intent" aimed against Muslims, the Public Prosecutor said. The man was arrested on May 23rd, but the Prosecutor only announced his arrest on Wednesday, NU.nl reports.

The authorities started investigating the man after receiving information that the man thought that violence against Muslims is justified "and would take action to do so", the Prosecutor said. "There was also information that he might have access to a quantity of explosives."

The police arrested thee suspects for trying to assassinate a 31-year-old man from Alkmaar on an industrial estate on Moezelhavenweg near the A5 in Amsterdam on Tuesday morning. The victim, an employee of a spy shop, was beaten with a firearm, NOS reports.

 The perpetrators actually wanted to shoot the victim, but their firearm malfunctioned and wouldn't fire. So they beat him with the firearm instead, before fleeing in a stolen Audi Q5. The Alkmaar man was seriously injured.

Dressed as Sinterklaas, the officer mocked his colleague's failed relationship in a poem and song, NOS reports.
