The Oost-Nederland police arrested two police officers on suspicion of violating their official confidentiality. They are suspected of participating in a criminal partnership, RTL Nieuws reports.
Authorities in the picturesque village of Giethoorn are trying to track down reports of fake police officers luring and robbing Chinese tourists. Police say they are looking to speak with any victims and witnesses of similar robberies.
Police say they are trying to track down two or three light complected young men with dark hair. The suspects have used a dark colored four-door sedan, not a hatchback, in the robberies. Each robbery took place in the afternoon, but police did not specify the dates of the crimes.
Activists for road safety placed empty chairs on squares in Zwolle, Nijverdal, Arnhem, Nijmegen and Ede on Wednesday. A total of 65 chairs were placed in Overijssel and 86 in Gelderland. They represented the number of people killed in traffic accidents in the two provinces last year, NOS reports.

One person was killed in stabbing in the Overijssel village of Dedemsvaart during the early hours of Friday morning. A suspect was arrested, ANP reports.
The stabbing happened on Beatrixstraat in a residential area. The crime scene is closed off and the police are investigating.
So far nothing is known about the identity of the victim or the circumstances surrounding the stabbing.
Public health institute RIVM again implemented the National Heat Plan for Limburg, Noord-Brabant, Gelderland, Utrecht, Overijssel and Drenthe. Temperatures in these parts of the country will climb to between 30 and 35 degrees in the coming days, and minimums will not drop much below 20 degrees, according to meteorological institute KNMI.

The police found the body of a child on Friday morning while searching for a missing 10-year-old boy in recreation area Het Hulsbeek in Overijssel. The identity of the young victim is still being confirmed, the police said, ANP reports.
The boy went missing on Thursday. His bicycle was found in a parking lot at a lake in the area, located near Oldenzaal. Emergency services responded en masse to search for the boy, who cannot swim.
According to newspaper Tubantia, Het Hulsbeek was evacuated for the search. A helicopter was deployed to help search for the boy.

A man and a woman from the Overijssel town of Albergen were injured when a man crashed his camper van into a terrace in the German city of Munster on Saturday. Two people were killed and 20 injured, including the Dutch couple. The perpetrator shot himself after the incident. The German authorities believe that this was not a terrorist attack, but a suicide by a man with psychiatric problems, ANP reports.
A 19-year-old man who was seriously injured in a stabbing at a birthday party in Den Ham, Overijssel, on Sunday, died of his injuries in hospital on Wednesday, RTL Nieuws reports
A fight started during the party and escalated into a stabbing. Emergency services resuscitated the victim, a man from Zwolle, and rushed him to a hospital in Almelo. He underwent surgery, but passed away on Wednesday.
The police arrested an 18-year-old man from De Ham for the stabbing.
Easter bonfires are causing an increased concentration in particulate matter in the air in some parts of the Netherlands, particularly in Overijssel and Achterhoek. A 46-year-old man from Zoetermeer killed himself and his 4-year-old son by jumping in front of an oncoming train in Haarle, Overijssel on Saturday night, the police said in a statement.
