Slat's 600 meter long 'plastic catcher' departed from San Francisco on Saturday and is on its way to clean up the plastic soup in the Pacific Ocean between California and Hawaii, NOS reports.
The Ocean Cleanup Project in the Pacific Ocean will start sooner and work faster, than initially planned founder Boyan Slat announced on Thursday.
