The police arrested a second suspect in the murder of Daan Hoefs in Schijndel in April. The 63-year-old man from Schijndel was arrested in Grave on Monday. He is the father of a 29-year-old man arrested two days after the fatal shooting, Omroep Brabant reports.
Public health institute RIVM again implemented the National Heat Plan for Limburg, Noord-Brabant, Gelderland, Utrecht, Overijssel and Drenthe. The police arrested a 52-year-old woman for involvement in a hit-and-run in Bladel during the early hours of Monday morning. The victim, a 39-year-old cyclist from Hapert, was found seriously injured on Hallenstraat at around 1:15 a.m.
According to the police, the victim sustained multiple fractures and internal injuries. He was rushed to hospital after receiving first aid at the scene. He underwent surgery.
A cyclist was found seriously hurt on Hallenstraat in Bladel at around 1:00 a.m. on Monday morning. The police believe the cyclist was injured in a hit-and-run accident, ANP reports.
According to Omroep Brabant, the cyclist was unconscious when security guard at a nearby company found him.

Warm summer weather had many Dutch seeking to cool down in the water this weekend. But that did not work out well for everyone. A man drowned in Amsterdam, in Hoofddorp a 4-year-old was resuscitated and rushed to hospital after being removed from a lake, a woman disappeared underwater in Nuenen, and two people are missing in Noordwijk.
The police raided an amphetamine lab on a plot on Elsendorpseweg in the Noord-Brabant town of Elsendorp on Tuesday evening. Five people were arrested by a SWAT team, Brabants Dagblad reports.
The suspects are four men and a woman, found at the lab. They were taken to a police station for questioning.
The raid happened around 9:00 p.m. The police are investigating.
A woman was stabbed to death in the Noord-Brabant village of Hoogerheide on Tuesday morning. A man was arrested at the scene.
Emergency services responded to the home on Binnenweg at around 7:45 a.m., after the stabbing was reported to the police. First responders tried to resuscitate the victim, but it was to no avail. She died at the scene.
The resident of the home was found nearby. He was arrested on suspicion of involvement in the fatal stabbing. He is in custody for questioning.
The police are investigating what happened.
Tim Scholten, 19 from Noord-Brabant, passed away over the weekend after being hit by a car early on Friday morning. The accident happened on Sliema boulevard on Malta, AD reports.
At around 4:50 a.m. on Friday a motorist lost control of his car and drove onto the pavement on Sliema boulevard, where Tim was walking with three Dutch friends, two Brits and two Croatians. Tim was seriously hurt and had to be resuscitated by bystanders while emergency services responded.
The other three Dutch and the two Brits sustained minor injuries. The Croatian women were unharmed.
The fire brigades in Noord-Brabant and Limburg had their hands more than full with multiple wildfires on Sunday. The fires were caused by continuing drought in the two provinces, RTL Nieuws reports.
In Budel a large wildfire had fire departments from the entire region busy on Sunday. A drone team was deployed to get a complete picture of the burning area. About 10 hectares burnt down.

From Friday farmers in the whole Oost-Brabant are banned from using surface water - water from lakes and rivers - to irrigate their fields. Everyone in the area is called on to be economical with their use of water, water board Aa en Maas announced, Omroep-Brabant reports.
This ban applies to the areas Beneden AA, Boven AA and Raam. Surface water may still be used for the drinking water of cattle, for extinguishing fires, and if an adjustable drainage system is used. Farmers who use groundwater, and not surface water, for irrigation can continue to irrigate their lands.

Police officers became unwell on Tuesday after they discovered 4,200 liters of drug waste in the back of a truck in Hulten, Noord-Brabant. The 27-year-old truck driver was arrested, NU.nl reports.

A man was found dead in a swimming pool on a farm in Miheeze, Noord-Brabant on Sunday. Another person was found unconscious and in critical condition about 100 meters away. Two people were arrested, the Oost-Brabant police said on Twitter.
Emergency services resuscitated both victims on the farm on Peeldijk. The man found in the pool, a 29-year-old man from Milheeze, died at the scene. The other victim was rushed to hospital by ambulance. The identity of this victim has not yet been revealed.

Over the past decades there's been a "dramatic" decline in the number of ground beetles and moths in two nature reserves in the Netherlands, according to Natuurmonumenten.
