A woman and four men were killed when a passenger van crashed into a truck on the N270 between Helmond and Deurne on Monday afternoon. The five victims all worked for the Horizon Groep in Velp, which deploys temporary production workers throughout the Netherlands. Four others were seriously injured, the truck driver and three others from in the van, AD reports.
Five people were killed and five people were hurt when a passenger van collided with a truck. At least four of those killed were in the van. The driver of the truck and multiple people from the van were initially reported injured. The truck driver was trapped in his vehicle after the accident, police said.
The accident happened just after 4:20 p.m. on Monday along the N270 just east of Helmond, Noord-Brabant. Within minutes two different helicopter ambulances were dispatched to the scene, along with several paramedic teams and firefighters.
At least 20 shots were fired at coffeeshop De Jungle on Kromstraat in Oss, Noord-Brabant during the early hours of Friday morning. The coffeeshop was closed at the time, and as far as is known, no one was injured, Omroep Brabant reports.
The police responded to the scene around 3:30 a.m. Officers found multiple bullet holes in the coffeeshop's roller shutter.
The area around the coffeeshop was closed down and the police are investigating.
A burnt out BMW was found on De Louwstraat in Schaijk some time later. Whether this is related to the shooting is not yet clear.
Two people were injured in a large fire in a warehouse behind a house on Korte Bunder in Hoeven, Noord-Brabant during the early hours of Thursday morning. Several explosions were heard in the warehouse. The wounded persons were taken to hospital for treatment, ANP reports.
The fire started shortly after midnight. The explosions heard were caused by items stored in the warehouse.

A six-month-old baby girl kidnapped in front of a grocery store on Monday morning was rescued by police just over the border on Monday evening. Authorities arrested the girl's biological parents, who were with baby Hannah when they were found together at a holiday park in Germany around 8 p.m., police revealed.
All three were still in Germany while their case was processed, police said. The Netherlands will request extradition.
A baby was abducted outside a Lidl supermarket on Nieuwstraat in the Noord-Brabant town of Eersel on Monday morning. The child was forcibly taken, a police spokesperson confirmed to Omroep Brabant.
Bystanders told the broadcaster that a woman carrying a child in a Maxi Cosi walked out of the supermarket towards the parking lot when a man came up, grabbed the Maxi Cosi and child from her arms and left in a car.
The average wealth of Dutch households increased by almost 10 percent in 2016, Statistics Netherlands reported on Wednesday based on new figures. This is mainly due to increasing house prices. Dutch without their own home did not see a wealth increase in that year, according to the stats office.
Nearly three in five households owned their home in 2016. An owned home formed the largest part of household's assets at 57 percent, followed by savings. Mortgage was also the largest debt item of Dutch households that year, making up 86 percent of the average household's debt.

Two adult ponies were found wandering around the Noord-Brabant town of Maaskantje during the early hours of Monday morning. They were taken in by animal ambulance Brabant Noordoost, who posted their photos on Facebook in an attempt to find the owner.
"They are adult ponies and their health is good", Wim van de Pol of the animal ambulance said to Omroep Brabant. "They walked in the middle of the street in the town of 't Maaskantje in the night from Sunday to Monday. A lady was able to lead them to her garden and we picked them up there."
A school bus carrying around 10 children between the ages of 10 and 15 crashed into a tree during stormy weather in Gravenmoer, Noord-Brabant on Thursday. Five children and the bus driver were injured, AD reports.
The extent of the kids' injuries is unclear. The bus driver was seriously injured, according to the newspaper. The bus was transporting kids to a school in Andel.
The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
