A Dutch prisoner is suspected of cutting his cellmate's throat in the St. Gilles prison in Brussels on Thursday. The body was discovered when the Dutch man was brought back to his cell after a session with the prison psychiatrist, AD reports.

The victim was an Algerian man who was convicted of a crime, but declared unaccountable due to his mental state. The Dutch man also has a history of psychiatric problems and is in custody awaiting his trial for theft, according to the newspaper.

A 40-year-old man from Almere is accused of killing his ex-girlfriend in a home in his hometown in June. The trial against Kamil O. will start on February 26th, the court said during a case status hearing on Wednesday. The victim is Parus Pillay, a 43-year-old body-builder from Durban in South Africa, according to South African media.

Police in Spain are looking for a 29-year-old Dutch man in connection with the fatal shooting of a French man in Cabopino, Marbella. The man in his 60's was gunned down on the street at about 8 p.m. on Tuesday when he was walking to his car, according to local newspaper Diario Sur.

The newspaper said the Dutch suspect, an alleged contract killer, is well known by police in the area, and should be considered “very dangerous.” He was described as being 1.80-meters tall, thin, and having a beard. There was no description of the second suspect involved in the shooting.

A stabbing in an Amsterdam Noord apartment left one woman dead, police said. A suspect was arrested shortly after the Thursday morning incident, which police said was possibly a domestic violence case.

“A female victim was so badly wounded in the incident that she died [at the scene] from her injuries,” police said. Emergency services were dispatched to a home at Waterlandplein for a reported knifing at about 9:10 a.m., including police two ambulances, and a trauma team in a helicopter.

The Netherlands formally offered its aid on Wednesday morning, Christoph Prommersberger, the deputy ambassador to Malaysia, said on Twitter. Whether the Dutch aid will be accepted, is not yet clear.

The police are investigating the death of a man at a shelter for asylum seekers on Kazernelaan in Weert on Wednesday morning. 

At around 8:45 a.m. the police and other emergency services responded to the asylum center after receiving a report of a possible fight. At the scene, they found the man's body. He was a resident of the asylum center, according to the police.

"The police are taking multiple scenarios into account and are investigating", the police said. Investigators currently assume the man was killed in a crime.

Freddy Janssen, a 51-year-old man whose body was found cut into pieces in a canal in Den Hout in 2016, was a criminal turned police informant, newspaper AD reports based on its own investigation. While his death is considered a suicide, sources within the Criminal Intelligence Team of the police fear that his relationship with the police resulted in him being killed, according to the newspaper.

Riduouan Taghi, considered the most wanted fugitive criminal in the Netherlands, is likely staying on Kish - an island in the Persian Gulf, an about two-hour boat ride from Dubai, the Telegraaf reports based on "multiple sources" within and outside the investigative services. The Netherlands has no extradition treaty with Kish.

In July the Telegraaf wrote that Taghi was "almost certainly" hiding in Dubai.

A 49-year-old man was arrested in Amsterdam on Friday. He is suspected of involvement in the death of 34-year-old Seif Ahmed from Amsterdam on October 1st, the police said in a statement.

Ahmed was found dying of a gunshot wound in his car on Buitensingel in Amsterdam-Duivendrecht. His 14-month-old daughter was in the backseat of the car.

A 37-year-old man was arrested in Montenegro in connection with the murder of a 33-year-old man in Breda on June 20, 2008. The victim was stabbed on Edisonstraat when leaving a bar after watching a football match.

The Breda man was stabbed in his wrist, neck and back. He collapsed and succumbed to his injuries a day after the stabbing. 

Police investigation quickly identified a then 26-year-old man as a suspect. Investigation showed that he had fled the Netherlands, so the man was put on international wanted lists.

A man found dying of a gunshot wound in a car on Buitensingel in Amsterdam-Duivendrecht on October 1st, had a toddler in the car with him, the police announced on Thursday. The toddler was the victim's child and was unharmed in the shooting that killed the father, 34-year-old Seif Ahmed.

Ahmed was found motionless in the car at around 5:15 p.m. on October 1st. First responders discovered he had a gunshot wound. They tried to resuscitate him, but it was to no avail. He died at the scene.

Police arrested a 33-year-old Rotterdam man in connection with a fatal shooting on Wednesday night. Police did not say if the suspect is believed to have pulled the trigger in an attack on a car on the Pusebocht in Rotterdam-Zuid between 10 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.

The victim was in a light-colored Opel Astra, witnesses said, when a gunman approached wearing dark clothing. He fired between six and eight shots and ran from the scene, according to newspaper AD.

A man died in a shooting on Putsebocht in Rotterdam-Zuid on Wednesday night. The police are looking for the perpetrators. The circumstances around the shooting are not yet clear.

The shooting happened at around 10:30 p.m. First responders tried to resuscitate the victim, but it was to no avail. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Witnesses told newspaper AD that the man was sitting in a gray Opel Astra when someone fired six to eight shots at him. Another witness saw a man dressed in dark clothes running away.

Two people from the Netherlands were killed in a robbery in Marloth Park, a holiday town situated in the South African Province of Mpumalanga, on Wednesday afternoon. Local media identify the victims as a 53-year-old man and a 75-year-old woman. They suffocated after being tied up and gagged by the robbers.

Police spokesperson Leonard Hlathi told News24 that a family of three and a visitor were in the house in Marloth Park when two men approached them asking for work. When the family said they had no work available, they were ambushed.

Suspect Ergun S. has psychological problems and his family was working on getting him admitted to a mental health clinic, his sister said to newspaper AD.

A 29-year-old man was shot on Jacob Krausstraat in Amsterdam early on Sunday morning. He was rushed to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. Multiple media sources identify the victim as Brennan Dalfour, a man with an extensive criminal record who is part of a well known crime family in Amsterdam, according to Het Parool.

The police responded to Jacob Krausstraat at 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, after reports of shots fired. They found the critically injured man at the scene. He was resuscitated on the street and rushed to hospital, where he died.
