A 59-year-old woman was found dead in her home on Driehoekskamp in the Drenthe town of De Groeve on Monday night. She was killed in a crime, according to the police. A 56-year-old man was arrested, Dagblad van het Noorden reports.

Police officers responded to the home at around 7:00 p.m. after a report. They found the victim dead inside. 

The suspect was arrested shortly after the woman's body was found, a police spokesperson said to the newspaper. He is still in custody. "The victim and the suspect knew each other", the police spokesperson said.

Sjonny W. denies that he was at all involved in the disappearance or death of missing Sabrina Oosterbeek from Amsterdam. In court on Tuesday he confirmed that he saw her the night before her disappearance in March 2017, but said that was "one evening of many". The 46-year-old man is suspected of murdering three women, including Oosterbeek, NU.nl reports.

A man shot and killed on Papaverweg in Amsterdam Noord on Monday night, was identified as gym owner Saban Berk. In 2014 the gym owner told Dutch media that he was often mistaken for, still at large, sex trafficker Saban B. He does not only have the same first name as the convicted human trafficker, but also a similar appearance, NU.nl reports.

The police arrested a 40-year-old woman from Haarlem on Monday morning on suspicion of involvement in the murder of Halil Erol in 2010. Last week the police arrested a 42-year-old man from Meppel in this case. Both suspects were previously in custody for involvement in Erol's murder, but released due to a lack of evidence.

The police arrested a 42-year-old man from Meppel on Friday morning. He is suspected of involvement in the murder of then 34-year-old Halil Erol from Steenwijk in 2010. This is the second time this suspect is arrested in connection with Erol's murder, the police said in a statement.

On Thursday the police did a new forensic investigation in the Meppel home where the suspect lived in 2010. He was arrested based on this investigation, the police said.

A man stabbed his wife to death in a home on Marco Polostraat in Den Bosch on Thursday afternoon. He was arrested at around 2:00 p.m., when he went to a police station to turn himself in, AD reports.

When the police went to investigate, they had to break one of the home's windows to get in. Inside they found the woman's body. No one else was in the home.

Local residents told AD that a Moroccan family, with two sons in their 20s and a teenage daughter, live in the home. "Unreal", one neighbor said to the newspaper. "They were all very quiet and sweet people."

According to the housemates, the suspect is a foreign man who has been renting a room in the student home for a month or two. The murder of four men in an Enschede grow shop last year was a Mexican woman's revenge for the death of her twin brother and 4-year-old daughter, crime reporter Hendrik Jan Korterink said based on information on a USB stick he received from a Russian man and telephone conversations with one of the suspects. The woman's brother and daughter were chopped into pieces and dumped into the Twente canal with over 100 kilograms of heroin and 100 kilograms of cocaine, according to the information, AD reports.

Nearly 18 years ago, Dutch kickboxer Coen de Nijs was shot and killed in the center of Alkmaar. This week police finally came one step closer to solving the crime.

A 46-year-old Estonian man was arrested on Tuesday, suspected of playing a role in the street killing. The man admitted to being involved in the incident, police said in a statement on Thursday.

The murder happened on June 22, 2001, when De Nijs was shot from behind while he was near the corner of Zevenhuizen and Gasthuisstraat in the Noord-Holland city. De Nijs died at the scene.

A fugitive Dutch man was arrested in Spain on Wednesday. 71-year-old Leonardus 'Lei' B. was sentenced to  life in prison by a Belgian court earlier this month for the murder of his ex-wife ten years ago, RTL Nieuws reports.

In December 2009 B. shot and killed his ex-wife Josee Widdershoven in Vucht out of frustration about their divorce. He then fled. After managing to avoid the authorities for years, the Sittard-born man was finally arrested in Calpe, Spain on Wednesday.

A 38-year-old man who was severely beaten at an Almere business park on Saturday morning has died from injuries sustained in the assault. Police were still looking for the suspect on Tuesday morning.

A blonde woman was seen shooting video of the incident at Markerkant 11 in Almere Stad. Police were hopeful that the woman would contact authorities to share any images she obtained.

The police are investigating the death of a 78-year-old woman in her apartment in Oostkapelle on Friday. Initial investigation revealed that the woman was likely killed in a crime, the police said in a statement on Monday evening.

The victim was found seriously injured in the apartment on Veldzigt at around 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Emergency services tried in vain to save her life. She died at the scene.

The police launched an investigation into the death of a 91-year-old woman from The Hague. The elderly woman's body was found in her home on Erasmusweg on May 8th. The police can't rule out a crime, so a large-scale investigation team as established to work on this case, NU.nl reports

The police already spoke to many of the victim's neighbors, but are still looking for witnesses. They call on anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious around the woman's home on May 7th or 8th to come forward.
