The Spanish police are investigating the death of a Dutch woman on the island of Gran Canaria, one of the Spanish Canary Islands. The woman was found dead next to the swimming pool of a vacation villa on Sunday morning, the Telegraaf reports.

The villa is located in Taurito, a tourist town on the southwest coast of the island. Emergency services responded to the villa around 10:15 a.m. The woman's partner, an Irish man, was taken in for questioning, but quickly released again.

A forensic investigation team dug up a body in a cemetery in Heerjansdam, near Barendrecht, on Thursday. This was done by order of the Public Prosecutor in an investigation into a nursing home worker suspected of murdering elderly patients by intentionally giving them an overdose of insulin, AD reports.

On Tuesday the police arrested two 15-year-old boys for stabbing 15-year-old Shakil to death in Almere. Shakil's murder was the fifth deadly incident in the Netherlands this year in which the suspects are 16 years old or younger.

Two years of forensic investigation resulted in a small breakthrough in the investigation into a wild-west like shooting on De Clercqstraat in Amsterdam in May 2015. Two men fired between 10 and 20 shots with automatic firearms just after midnight on May 13th, 2015, leaving 25-year-old Youssef El Kahtaoui dead. The police found traces of DNA on one of the fired bullets, was revealed on Opsporing Verzocht on Tuesday.

The Public Prosecutor demanded 18 years in prison against former tennis coach Mark de J. for the murder of businessman Koen Everink in his Bilthoven home in March last year. According to De J.'s lawyer, Bob Kaarls, the Prosecutor was selectively blind when investigating Everink's murder. "The Prosecutor suffers from tunnel vision", he said in court on Tuesday, NU.nl reports.

The Dutch embassy in Malaysia asked European police service Interpol to look into the death of 19-year-old Ivana Smit in Kuala Lumpur last week. The Dutch model's naked body was found on the sixth floor balcony of her hotel on Thursday. The local police believe she fell from a room on the 20th fall in an accident, RTL Nieuws reports.

According to newspaper AD, Ivana called her boyfriend around 7:25 a.m. on Thursday and told him that she was with an American couple after a night out. Her naked body was found around 3:00 p.m.

A 64-year-old woman was found critically injured in her home on Churchillsingel in Vlaardingen on Monday night. She died in hospital later that night. The police launched a large-scale investigation into her death.

The police responded to the woman's home around 11:00 p.m. on Monday, after receiving a report that she was injured. The critically injured woman was rushed ot the hospital, where she died of her injuries, the police said in a statement on Wednesday.

The men approached to participate in a DNA kinship investigation in an attempt to solve the 1992 rape and murder of Milica van Doorn in Zaandam, were willing to take part en masse. So far 126 of the 133 Dutch-Turkish men approached gave the police a voluntary DNA sample, the police said in a statement. 

"It is really fantastic to see that so many men cooperated. All from commitment and willingness to solve this gruesome case, supported by their own families. That deserves a big copliment." team leader Rob Keet said in the statement.

A 21-year-old nursing home worker accused of intentionally injecting elderly patients with overdoses of insulin is now suspected in two other fatal cases, the public prosecutor announced on Thursday. Rahiied A. was already suspected of causing the death of one person, and having possible involvement in the deaths of four others.

There are at least six known cases where a victim survived.

As the investigation into Anne Faber's murder continues, the police are getting an increasingly clear picture of what happened to the 25-year-old Utrecht woman in the time between when she left home to go cycling on September 29th and when her body was found on October 12th. Murder suspect Michael P. told the police that he crossed paths with Anne when he crashed into her with his scooter, according to the Telegraaf.

Another suspect was arrested in connection with the murder of 31-year-old Djordy Latumahina in Amsterdam in October last year. The police believe that this man was one of the two gunmen who killed the Amsterdam DJ, the Public Prosecutor confirmed to AD.

The suspect is a Caucasian man with blond hair who comes from the Amsterdam area, according to the newspaper. The other suspected gunman, Djurgen W., was previously arrested.

On Friday the court in Utrecht remanded a 16-year-old boy from Den Bosch suspected of murdering 14-year-old Savannah Dekker from Bunschoten into custody for another three months. This was the teen boy's second appearance in court since he was arrested in June, AD reports.

A 14-year-old boy was convicted and sentenced to one year in a youth detention facility for his role in the death of Romy Nieuwburg, a girl his age from Hoevelaken. The teen boy was also ordered to spend mandatory time in a psychiatric facility, which can be extended to a maximum of seven years.

The sentence is the harshest available for the conviction of a suspect under 16 years of age. It is equivalent to what the prosecutor in the case sought against the Lunteren boy.

Sjonny W., a 44-year-old Amsterdam man suspected of gruesomely murdering three women, tried to commit suicide in his cell in the penitentiary in Zaanstad on Wednesday, the Telegraaf reports based on "informers from the prison".

The Ministry of Justice and Security did not deny the incident, but refused to comment on it. "This is an individual case. We can not say anything about it", a spokesperson said to the newspaper. W.'s lawyer also refused to comment.

Dutch businessman Marcel van Hout was found dead in his home in Neerpelt, Belgium - just across the border near Eindhoven - on Wednesday evening. He was murdered, the police in the Belgian Limburg confirmed to Nieuwsblad.be. The Public Prosecutor is investigating the case. 

Van Hout "died an unnatural death, but it is not certain that it was a crime", the 51-year-old Dutch man's lawyer, Bert de Rooij, said to newspaper AD. "It was not suicide, that was clear", the lawyer said.

Rahiied A. is the 21-year-old Rotterdam man arrested last week on suspicion of murdering an elderly woman in a nursing home in Puttershoek, and attempting to murder two other elderly women in Puttershoek and Rotterdam, by giving them insulin without medical necessity, newspaper AD reports. People who know A. describe him as a "family person" and an "ambitious boy".

A 21-year-old man from Rotterdam was arrested for euthanizing a patient without her permission or that of a relative, which the Public Prosecutor is charging as murder. The nursing home employee is also suspected of attempting to do the same to two other patients. The suspect worked at a number of care institutions, the Prosecutor said in a statement on Monday.

On Friday the police arrested a 39-year-old woman from Groningen for involvement in the murder of 34-year-old Halil Erol from Steenwijk in 2010. The woman was arrested based on new information received, the police said in a statement. More arrests may follow.
