Campaigners over the weekend slandered the proposed intake of refugees with defamatory banners and slogans at railways stations in the cities of Montfoort and Woerden. The incident saw banners with the words like, ‘No refugees’ and ‘f**k off to your own country’ plastered over railway station windows and walls. Woerden Mayor Victor Molkenboer finds these actions deplorable.

Authorities imposed 962 stadium bans against unruly fans last football season, with over 400 being told they are not welcome for two seasons. Evidence from the annual 2014-2015 season meeting of the Central Information Point for Football Hooliganism (CIV) showed that the number of stadium bans has risen through the combined efforts the police, prosecution and Dutch football association KNVB to welcome a safer football experience, police said in a statement on Thursday.

A tanker leaking hydrochloric acid has caused quite a bit of havoc in Molenhoek, Limburg on Monday morning. The tanker is on an industrial estate on Bovensteweg, not far from Nijmegen. Emergency services have closed down the area, which is covered in a smoke cloud. The risk to public health is as of yet unclear
