A leak in an underground naphtha pipeline in Born, Limburg, gives specialists a lot of work. They have been preparing to seal the leak in the night from Tuesday to Wednesday. The final sealing happens Wednesday in daylight, reported the fire department.
The leak in the pipeline occurred on Tuesday when workers were drilling. Two of the workers were covered with the liquid, which had to be washed off by the fire brigade. It is not known why they were drilling in the area.
On Tuesday heavy storms blew away tents and made trees fall at the camping site De IJzeren Man in Weert and the nearby natural campsite Wega. The storm created widespread panic among the visitors. No one was injured.

A quarrel between Greek men and Polish men at a campsite in Baarlo (Limburg), ended in a stabbing in the night from Saturday to Sunday. Three Polish men (26, 26 and 31) were injured, two Greeks (27 and 38) were arrested, as the police reported.
The 47-year-old gunman who shot at three passers-by, from his home at the Pierre Kemp Street in Melick (Limburg) on Wednesday afternoon, was arrested by a SWAT team. The weapon he used was most probably an air gun. The man was transported handcuffed and blindfolded in a police car. During the raid by the SWAT team, shots were heard. The police, however, did not confirm a shooting during the arrest.

Two sisters of 75 and 78 years of Margraten (Limburg) lost their lives on Wednesday in their hometown, due to a tragical traffic accident. When the two pedestrians crossed the high way around 5.00 pm, they were hit by a tractor with a lawnmower installed at the front.
The precise location of the accident was the crossing of the highway with the Sterre der Zeestraat, reported the police. The tractor was driven by a 43-year old man from Echt, Limburg. The driver gave a statement to the police. After taking the statement the police let the man go.

On Friday morning, the bomb squad (EOD) in Venlo responded to a report that an explosive was attached to the leg of a 22-year-old man. For hours, the areas near the scene at Casinoweg in Venlo were closed off. Fortunately, the device was not an explosive.
