Four men were arrested in Leeuwarden during the early hours of Sunday morning for stealing money from a brothel on Weaze, the Leeuwarder Courant reports.

The men forced their way into the brothel's office, grabbed an unknown amount of money and fled the scene. The theft was filmed by surveillance cameras.

Based on the camera footage, the police identified and arrested the four men. The suspects are all from Het Bildt and aged 18, 23, 24 and 31 years. They are in custody for further investigation.

The unit was searched in the investigation into a 37-year-old resident of the city, who is suspected of illegal firearm possession, the police announced on Monday.

A Swiss fighter jet crashed Thursday afternoon in the small Frisian village of Bitgum after a mid-air collision with another aircraft. The fighter jet, a Northrop Grumman F-5, went down less than ten kilometers west of the Dutch airbase in Leeuwarden.
