A Dutch woman was found dead in a hotel room in the T Nagar area of Chennai, India on Thursday. The young woman, identified as 24-year-old Linda Irene Heijker based on passport records, was found under mysterious circumstances, India Today reports.

The Dutch woman checked in to the hotel on Monday, introducing herself as a journalist, and told hotel staff she would be checking out on Thursday morning, according to the newspaper. When she hadn't checked out of her room by 12:45 p.m. on Thursday, hotel workers opened her room with a duplicate key and found her dead.

On Thursday the Public Prosecutor admitted to a third case in which a journalist's right to protect his sources was not respected. The Prosecutor in Rotterdam retrieved a journalist's telephone data in an effort to find his sources. This happened in October 2017 and February 2018 in a criminal investigation into a police officer suspected of leaking information to the journalist, NU.nl reports.

Reporter Ton van der Ham of television program Zembla is banned fro UMC Utrecht for a year, according to an official denial of entry by the hospital. The journalist will only be allowed on the hospital grounds if he needs urgent physical or psychological help, the document reads, NOS reports.

A investigative journalist for Dutch national broadcaster KRO-NCRV was arrested in Greece on Monday for entering a restricted military area on the border between Greece and Turkey without permission. Sakir Khader was released on Tuesday after appearing in court, the Washington Post reports.

A group of men threatened and harassed journalists in the Venlo district of Blerick on Thursday. A reporter and cameraman from PowNed were assaulted, and journalists from ANP and NOS were also targeted. Minister Ferdinand Grapperhaus of Justice and Security denounced these attacks, calling them unacceptable in the weekly ministerial council on Friday, according to 1Limburg.

Dutch journalist Bram Janssen was released from custody several hours after being arrested in Istanbul on Sunday. The photo journalist for news wire AP was arrested while taking pictures at a pride parade through the Turkish capital, according to RTL correspondent Olaf Koens.

Koens also confirmed that Janssen was released. "I got a message from Bram: 'Yes, I am free. I was treated well', he wrote. So it ended with a sizzle." Janssen filmed police action against the people in the pride parade. He has a Turkish press card, so was allowed to do so, according to the broadcaster.

The UN war crimes tribunal ICTY is releasing French journalist Florence Hartmann from custody. Hartmann was arrested in The Hague on Thursday while waiting for the verdict against former Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic.

French journalist Florence Hartmann was arrested by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) in The Hague last week. The conditions under which she is being detained, are being met with international disbelief. According to her lawyer, Hartmann is being kept in solitary confinement, with a light burning 24 hours per day and checked on every 15 minutes.

Deputy Prime Minister Lodewijk Asscher will be speaking during the "Solidarity Night; Jews and Muslims Solidarity with Paris" and Mayor Eberhard van der Laan will be attending the event as well.

Political reporter Ferry Mingelen is going to stop working for the NOS. The 66-year-old famous reporter will retire on January 1, 2014. Almost thirty years he has been the face of political journalism.

Last year, Mingelen reached the age of 65. The NOS decided then to let him work for one year more. It will be the end of his long career.
