YouTube removed the Regionaal Archief Alkmaar video channel over "hate speech". The archive channel featured video footage of the Second World War and other archive footage of Alkmaar and its surroundings. The removal may have to do with the fact that Nazi symbols like swastikas can be seen on the WWII footage, NH Nieuws reports. The channel now seems to be back online.

Geert Wilders and the PVV sparked outrage and anger from politicians and various organizations with an anti-Islam campaign video broadcast on NPO on Thursday. A number of politicians and organizations announced that they will be pressing charges of incitement to hatred and violence against the PVV leader as well as the broadcaster.

Geert Wilders can partly thank the current hate-speech trial against him to a legislative proposal he himself supported in 2005, according to professor of sanction law Henny Sackers. In 2005 the Public Prosecutor filed a motion to increase prosecutioin and punishment for hate speech, racism and discrimination - and Wilders supported it, the Volkskrant reports.

Geert Wilders' lawyer Geert-Jan Knoops called the leak of a legal brief outlining his defense plans "an attack on the process and on Wilders' freedom", during a pre-trial hearing in the hate speech trial against the PVV leader on Friday. Knoops demanded that the trial be called off until the leak was thoroughly investigated
