From a survey by Whooz regarding Dutch citizens' preferences for the current coalition formation among 9,500 respondents divided in 14 target groups, it appears a coalition between the 'core bloc' of VVD, D66 and CDA together with GroenLinks is most popular. This cabinet is slightly more desirable to Dutch citizens than a combination of the core bloc with the ChristenUnie. Third in line is a leftist coalition with CDA, D66, GroenLinks, SP, PvdA and PvdD.
More than two out of ten employees in the Netherlands say they are unhappy with their job’s salary, reports the Statistics Netherlands (CBS) based on data collected in the fourth quarter of 2015. However, the percentages strongly vary between sectors. Almost four out of ten persons employed by government institutions said they were dissatisfied with their income.
Thanks to higher than expected revenue and lower than expected spending, the Dutch government is left with a 200 million euros surplus on the 2016 budget, Minister Jeroen Dijsselbloem of Finance said in a letter to parliament on Thursday, ANP reports.
The surplus can almost entirely be attributed to the total tax and premium revenue of last year, which came out 3.1 billion euros higher than projected. Expenses were 0.2 billion euros lower. In the Autumn calculations the government still expected a budget deficit of 3.1 billion euros.

Last year more women occupied top positions in businesses in the Netherlands, though they are still a minority compared to the men.
