Children who commit their first minor offense like shoplifting, will soon only face a strong reprimand. Last year the police experimented in Twente with an approach in which minors were not put in jail after a first offense, but instead had a firm conversation with a police officer in the presence of their parents. This approach will now be implemented nationwide, AD reports.

So far the police managed to identify the kangaroo's owner. Actually catching the Australian marsupial turned out to be the the harder task. The kangaroo is still on the loose.

An 18-year-old girl who went missing from Epe during the early hours of Saturday morning, was found dead in the outskirts of Oene on Sunday afternoon. She died in an accident - no crime was committed, the Gelderland police said on Twitter.

A 58-year-old woman was arrested after a body was found in a home on Blauwe Hoek in the Gelderland village of Doornenburg on Monday morning. The victim was identified as a 58-year-old man. The man was killed in a violent way, according to the police.
The police responded to the apartment complex at around 6:45 a.m. after a report. The woman was outside the building. She is suspected of involvement in the man's death. The woman was taken to a police station for questioning.
