Mosques in The Netherlands are worried about rising tensions between religious groups. For this reason, the Council of Mosques and the Union of Moroccan Mosques Netherlands are calling for tolerance against Jewish "brothers of the holy book", Elsevier reports.

Dutch journalist Rena Netjes could be sentenced to between 15 and 25 years in prison if convicted of conspiring with the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt. Netjes is one of twenty journalists criminally charged in connection with a clampdown on global news television network al-Jazeera.

Saudi Arabia has begun imposing trade sanctions against companies based in the Netherlands in reaction to PVV-leader Geert Wilders' anti-Islam stickers. The measures will be imposed by declaration of King Abdullah, nu.nl reports.

Four Dutch who were engaged in making a documentary about homosexuality in Russia, have been arrested on suspicion of gay propaganda. This was reported by the NOS. Today the four face the court. They get support from the staff of the Dutch consulate.

The prosecution demands a fine for the four. The Dutch were arrested at a festival in Murmansk, near the border with Finland. One of the arrested is Kris van der Veen, councilor for GroenLinks in Groningen.
